No denying they were a good team. My optimism increased by about 1000% when I heard we'd dropped Colgan - although to be honest I kinda wondered if this was some bizarre plan by Davey to hope that Lucas had a shocker so he had a reason to re-instate Colgan. Obviously I had no idea about how things were to turn out....

To sum up 90 mins - they got a lucky first, a second which a sporting team would have not even tried for, and we didn't look like we had any idea what we were going to do. It was frustrating at best. We still need another 9 points from our remaining games - I'm starting to worry that none of the games I have in mind (Ipswich A, Palace H, Leics H) are winnable.

    to be fair

their second happened so quickly that it wasn't their fault that they shot. He probably hadnt even noticed that the keeper was injured when he hit it.

did we once score a goal when huddersfield's (possibly) keeper had been injured for what seemed like quite a while and the ref let the goal stand? I seem to remember sheridan burying it into an empty net.

My memory isnt very good :D

It was Birmingham in the promotion season

Sheridan scored as you remember & we lost, 2-1 I think.

I believe that you're right wayne. We lost 1-0 against brum

According to soccerbase anyway. I have to say, I don't remember them wearing gold though but like I said, my memory is like that of a goldfish.

    Hmm, not sure

I'm sure it was Birmingham & sure it was the promotion season. However, we lost against Birmingham in the promotion season 1-0 so it can't have been that game. Maybe it was Wolves, maybe it was Birmingham in a different season.

Either way, I clearly remember Shez sticking the ball in the net whilst their keeper was clearly out of it & looking somewhat embarrassed about it afterwards.

    Thats about fair

System didnt really seem to work - couldnt work out if they were really good or we were having abit of an off day. No one really played well for us today. Thought Lucas was really unlucky with everything.

Its going to be mighty tight

I've just had a quick check and I can't find any games against birmingham at oakwell that sheridan scored in so it must have been against wolves (he only scored against wolves and reading that year).

Either way it was a tad embarrassing because their keeper had been out of it for quite a while. So long that I think their players had been complaining to the ref to stop the game even before he shot.

You're probably right about it being Wolves

Although I was sure our opponents that day were playing in blue. However, I would dispute it being 0-0 at the time. I'm almost certain we were losing & were desperately trying for a way back into the game. Hence Shez taking advantage of the prostrate keeper.

Edited to add that I was composing this whilst you were already being proved right regards the team! Good call.

    But not about the score

we were losing 2-0 at the time as the rather patronising article suggests.

Indeed. and maybe wolves were wearing this kit in the game? It was their away kit that season.

    Yes

I'm pretty sure you're right, although I'd have to refer to the Season to Remember video to be certain! :D

    Wolves it was

but the keeper went down to try and getthe game halted imho. As soon as we scored he was on his feet like a shot!

Lucas at fault for both goals

How the hell anyone can criticise Colgan when he is the alternative beggars belief.
