Well, I'm not going to sugar coat things. I was very disappointed with Ricky's performance on Sunday, not because he was BAD, but because he can be so much better. Saying that however, I think he would've still struggled to beat Mayweather who was quite simply, immense.

I think that was Mayweathers most impressive performance of his career, along with the Corrales fight.

He stood in there a LOT more than I thought he would! Threw a lot more punches and beat Hatton at his own game! Never saw that coming, especially the knockout!

I thought he would pot shot and move more, like the Baldamir fight! Though, I thought he would win, definately not so convincingly!

Hatton didnt use his body shots AT ALL! He only threw a couple of them all fight! Insane! Bad bad coaching there! Infact, TERRIBLE coaching! Have they ever watched tape of Mayweather? WTF were they thinking! That is the KEY to get Mayweather! I'd love to hear from the Hatton camp about this.

Mayweather is one of the very best fighters of all-time! No doubt about that now! He also looked to have grown into welter even better and looked bigger than in the DLH fight where he apparently weighed more! Though not sure at fight time how much he put on, but certainly a few pounds! Mayweather V Cotto is the fight that now has to happen! I think Cotto would win this, he's a friggin animal.

Overall, congratulations to Floyd. I love watching him fight, infact he is my favourite fighter in the world at the moment! I want him to keep winning and leaving a great legacy! However, he wasnt throwing as many punches against DLH, looked bored (and even came out and said he is bored with boxing after the fight), and struggles against good pressure fighters! Hatton is exactly that and the way he demolished (an admittedly past it) Castillo, was impressive and a big warning! But he stepped upto the plate in this fight and didnt just box, but beat down Hatton! I still think Ricky will be back, and stronger. Hopefully up against Witter back down at 140 (where he belongs). He's still a class guy and even in defeat, showed what a great fighther he is.

mayweather makes boxers look bad mayweathers defense made hatton throw less and less to the body, mayweather is a legend and hatton should be proud that he lasted ten....he didnt let me down.

cotto will get blasted by mayweather.

Cotto blasted by Mayweather? No chance.

Hatton should be proud, yes. Even if Ricky had been at his best, I still think he would have struggled heavily against Floyd in this type of form. Hatton tried to make the jump up, but just couldn't do it. I hope he comes back and destroys Witter in his next fight, which I think will happen. Probably Spring 2008.

"I hope he hits me harder than he hits them pads" - R.Hatton, Dec 2007.

£5million should soften the blows though. buys a lot of tracksuits and sunhats that.

Agree with much of what you've said, but Hatton didn't let anyone down. What we saw was the difference between a very good fighter and an excellent fighter. Agree totally that Hatton loses a lot when he puts on the extra weight, should have one more fight at light Welter, beat Witter and retire as champion. Mayweather was bigger, faster, stronger, better.

I think you're been a little bit harsh on Ricky there.

Up until the 6th you wouldn't have predicted a 10th round knockout, and the fact the scorecards were so heavily in Mayweathers favour (89-81 FFS!) isn't a fair reflection.

Mayweather was better than Ricky both on the inside and the outside, which nobody expected, and Ricky himself admitted after getting the one point deduction he foolishly let tactics go out of the window.

I was proud to have followed him out to Vegas, and he should feel proud that he's achieved enough in his career to have even made it into the ring with Mayweather. Not only that but I don't think Vegas will ever have an atmosphere like it has this weekend for one boxing fight, and that's all down to Ricky Hatton.

Seeing him get knocked out was one of the most upsetting things I've had to witness in sport, however he has more than enough to be proud about and can definately hold his head up high.

Mayweather was class, immense, just too good - End of story!

It was like a light heavyweight up against a heavyweight.

Hatton is not the biggest puncher at Welterweight and Mayweather is not a big puncher as it is. If I’m right that was his first knockout he’s gave out for a good few years.

I did predict what would happen and made 195 from one of my bet coming in.

Hatton up against Collazo struggled late on and again the fight went down a similar route.

Did think the pathetic point’s deduction was maybe what cost Hatton the fight as his corner where telling him he was behind, he probably though he had to make up the point and he lost his rhythm at that point, getting caught a few times while trying to push the fight back in his favour.

It was a quality punch to end it but a lot of boxers established at that weight probably wouldn’t have gone down.

That's how I felt as well. I was depressed thinking about it all yesterday and didn't like seeing Ricky's ass on the canvas being plastered on all the nationals. Outside of Barnsley Football Club, I cannot remember the last time I was upset after watching a sporting event. Ricky is still my number one sporting hero :) :) :)
