We were rock bottom and **** to watch. Fearing relegation. We're 6th now. And at Wembley next weekend. With trips to Wigan and dem blades that could be huge. Disappointed not to win today, but in the circumstances and all things considered, I'm a very content reds supporter who can't wait to see how this crazy season unfolds. I'll not be over-analysing things or being too critical just because we've not won a game (for once). Others are free to do so and feel very disappointed etc. It's an open forum, that's the point. But aye... three months ago n that. You Reds. And I'll also take this opportunity to thank everyone who bought a copy of our charity CD today. I also appreciate the efforts of the WSB lads who helped to flog em with their own charity mag. Kudos, brothers. On to Port Vale. #TheReds
Yep agree with you Whitey. Three months ago we'd have lost that game ,disappointed with the result but IMO a makeshift team of younguns did themselves proud today with a physical Scunny team with all the nous of how to impose some professionalism in their challenges and played a weak referee to their tune. Thought Toney was given a man's role today and he did a decent job considering the little experience he will have had before today.
We were last weekend n all. But it's four points from the last six whilst being **** to watch. Two clean sheets. Decimated XI. Context n that. I am disappointed though. I'd like to win every game.
Be a crap forum if nobody expressed different views. We're off three fairly flat performances (admittedly with mitigation interms of injuries, etc). Unless we regain a full squad and lift ourselves back up to the Dec-Feb performance level it's unlikely that we'll get anything at Burton, Blunts or Wigan. But to be fair to you, it has been a season of surprises as you say. We'll see where it takes us. Wonder if Hecky will crack a smile before the season's out? (Hopefully next Sunday)
Teams have lost today with more experienced and supposedly better players, We've had a makeshift team of young guns today without a great deal of experience against a decent div 1 side . They've battled through and got a worthy draw. It wasn't pretty to watch and when I saw the list of players out I never expected a anything else than a dour battle tbh. But I think they deserve a lot of praise for the effort and determination that even a makeshift team will give their all for a result to help our cause ,pretty to watch or not. As Whitey said perspective.
Them three away games worry me. There again, we got a result in the Paintpot at Wigan and we beat the (very) Blunts last season...........?
I think we're a better side away from home. It suits us to soak up pressure and pick attacking sides off, ala Walsall recently, Bradford a while ago and many others I suppose. Our away form beggars belief. Just one defeat on the road this year and we were very hard done by that day. Wigan are going to go up. They'll have the deckchairs out that afternoon. And dem blades will be mathematically out of the playoff running too. Burton are a myth.
