Anyone on here live there? by chance.... Just really wanting to know what the areas like, ie is it rowdy friendly etc, Windsor street is the area i'm most interested in wanting info about.... Any info would be most useful....Cheers

When I lived in Darfield in the 80s We referred to Thurnscoe as Beirut.</p> It might have improved since then, although I don't really think Beirut is as rough as Thurnscoe </p>
Fond memories of the times spent down there, goldthorpe and bolton Used to be great on a night there when the TARN only had the No 7 that were owt like Goldthorpe Hotel.........best pub I've ever been in when Trish were the landlady......absolutly bouncing
Windsor Street. Very rough. They've just pulled a load of buildings down and built new houses at the entrance to the estate, but the estate itself,well, I wouldn't go anywhere near it at less than 40.....in a tank.
I think you failed to add that you're about 6' 6" and built like the proverbial brick powder room, which therefore would have given you a certain advantage over many on here in such establishments.
I lived there until I was 17, top end, just near Windsor Street.. I liked it, never had any problems despite its reputation Its up for regen too, so it will prob improve..
Thurnscoe is an absoloute **** hole....rough as a bears arse.....the busiest shops are netto and rhythm n booze....go figure wouldnt live there if it was rent free....
