Priority for people with ticket stubs is a ballax, especially with 4 tickets available to ST holders. It's not really a fair way, and has many flaws. I know of someone without an ST that goes to as many games as possible, and when he can go he goes with ST holders. Ipswich was one of the games he could go to and he went and got his stub. His ST mate is getting him his ticket and he's given his stub to his g/f's old man who has never been to a Barnsley game and supposedly supports Man U! How is this a fair way of categorising tickets. This just puts another 'glory day' supporter in front of many fans who do go to games where possible but struggle to get to over many due to distance, family work commitments etc. Most genuine fans will have purchased tickets in advance at some point this season, and their name/details should be registered on the clubs database as names have to be given when booking. Again this wouldn't be foolproof, but surely the club could do things like selling tickets to peope who are on the database as having got tickets for another game this season. It would be more work for the club, but their policy seems to be getting rid of the tickets as quick as possible with as little work, while trying to boost attendance/revenue at one game while not realising how it could p!ss off others. Why are we trying to shift tickets in 5 days when Cardiff are taking more? Why not think about it and try to keep fans who may not have a ST or get to many games, but are a valuable source of revenue through merchandise and games they do go to, happy as oppose to people who's never contributed a penny to the club? As you can tell, I'm not too happy over the arrangements as it looks like I'll struggle to get one, so if anyone feels like taking pity on me and can get a ticket that would go spare please let me know!
Ticket stubs aren't 'a load of ballax', just their choice of them. If you accept their current database isn't up to providing the necessary information, the use of ticket stubs should be graded for this game something like this: After ST Holders: 1st dabs: 15 ticket stubs 2nd dabs: 10 ticket stubs 3rd dabs: 5 ticket stubs These could be a combination of home and away stubs. All this 'we can't do it because we didn't publicise that people should save their ticket stubs' is a load of twaddle. Ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper, fans have known that it's a good idea to save ticket stubs in case there is a big game.
The main point I'm trying to make is that no matter how many ticket stubs you have, if someone with an ST gets you a ticket the stubs are useless, so can be sold, given away etc and someone who's never been before. If ST's only got one ticket then I'd agree with what you are saying.
I think we have to accept that 20,000 people in the Barnsley end will have rarely been to Oakwell ,if at all, this season and they will have been given their tickets by season ticket holders.
Judging by our home attendences, I reckon the first 2 categories in your list wont have many takers.

RE: Judging by our home attendences, Probably not. But it would cater for a sizeable number of people on here that reckon they have been to that many games and eliminate one of usual grumbles. "I've been to most home games and half a dozen away games but don't have a Season Ticket..."
You're right. Surely we all want to be backed by 33,000 fans on the day and there isn't 33,000 fans who watch Barnsley regularly by any stretch of the imagination. I suppose people see it as an injustice that some people who don't go at all can get a ticket easier than people that do. No matter what system is in place this will always happen to some extent, but the current way of selling doesn't target enough genuine fans. A start would be more categories.
RE: Judging by our home attendences, The amount of people who claim they have been to most of the home game the away game does amaze me.
The attendences we have had would not seem to agree with this.
