Just been down to Oakwell for tickets, given a raffle ticket ( no. 610 ) was told that no.500 was at the front and they were processing app. 50 per hour so I would have a 2 hr. wait so I said if I went away and came back in 3 hrs. would I get placed in the queue in a position equal to the ticket number, the answer was yes this is what we want people to do, so thats what I've done, but guess what, there was only me and a couple more thats come away the rest are queueing, silly bugg*rs. Personally cant find anything wrong with the system, the problems are being caused by the stupid idiots that rushed down and queued straight away and of course the usual idiots on here that complain about anything and everything that BFC do. Get real we support BFC not Manchester United, we average less than 10000 home fans of which 6000+ are season ticket holders why the f*ck do we need to spend stupid money on a sophisticated ticketing system when we've only just got into a financial situation (thanks to PC) were we can start to buy players. Now I'm not saying that what they are doing is perfect after all you cant please all the people all of the time but people have got to be sensible about the situation, didn't the club say in the original statement that you have got while the 1st March to get your seats so THERE IS NO NEED TO RUSH. (doh) (doh) (doh)
If they're processing 50 an hour They won't be able to serve all ST holders by the cut-off date.
I agree wholeheartedly that there was no need for folk to go rushing down like idiots, but at the same time the ticket office is open for 10 minutes a day.
Why, during the rare occasions we experience high demand we can't open for a couple of late nights, a Saturday afternoon and say 10-4 on Sunday is beyond me. The mentality that seems to think everyone can get 9-5 Monday to Friday is not suited to a successful Football Club.

Problem is though Many people can't get down in the morning to grab a raffle ticket, my mate is going for ours and planning to leave work a bit early….so if by that time (4pm) they are serving those with raffle tickets then what chance him managing to get them?
50 per hour x 8 hours = 400 transactions per day...... ............ = 800 tickets sold per day x 5 days = 4,000 tickets between now and Friday. I know they are open late on Tuesday and also on Saturday morning but if you add another 1,000 on for that, is that enough time to sell to all the season ticket holders? I can see the deadline for ST holders being extended into a couple of days next week, after all, the general sale will only be for about 2-3,000 tickets maximum with no limit per person, so they should sell much quicker
Enough to make you laugh. Personally I think the whole problem is down to giving season ticket holders the additional ticket. I had a phone call other day from someone who never goes to get them a ticket on mine and the old mans. They wanted a certain area, sat together, etc. Quickly gave them dates for general sale and not to bother me again! lol. If everyone does the same that increase the sale turnaround time.
RE: 50 per hour x 8 hours = 400 transactions per day...... Depends if people are taking loads of season ticket booklets down with them though.
Looks like the Owls attendance will suffer Unnecessarily difficult to get tickets. As far as I can see unless folks go down on Wednesday, they are going to have a right old job getting one. Couldn't they have a separate office/ turnstile open all day for the sole purpose of selling Owls tickets?
THERE IS NO NEED TO RUSH As long as you can afford the time to keep going back again and again. Only three tills open is hardly helping the situation. If it is down to the cost or the fact that box office staff have families too, why not ask for volunteers to help out? Come on Don, we are NOT YOUR ENEMEY.
RE: 50 per hour x 8 hours = 400 transactions per day...... My mate will be taking 3 season ticket books, and buying 3 tickets.
They could do with something in place on Tuesday evening Many pay on the day folk would probably be looking to get Wednesday tickets tomorrow before the game. Why not have a couple of stalls in the concourse of East Stand and Ponty End to sell Wednesday tickets?
Albatross you are probably right when you say that the deadline will more than likely be extended for the S/T holders, but that little bit of sensible thinking is probably too difficult for some on here to comprehend, now if they don't process all the S/Ts and they don't extend the deadline then we will have the right to complain but until that time give them the benifit of the doubt. Like I said you can't pleae all the people all the time, there will be some people in situations where they will find it difficult to get down to ground, but I would think that if those people sat tight for a few days didn't panic, and waited for the queue,s to diminish so the box office was'nt under seige they would probably be able to phone up and get their own situation sorted but that won't happen while there are massive queue's outside.
But until such time that the club announce an extension to the deadline, people have to work to the deadline of Saturday 3pm.
People are now trying to compound the ticket problem by bringing the Wendy match into the argument, stop and think before you post, the only people who will want a Wendy ticket are non S/Ts so because the club know which tickets are available they will be pre printed and probably sold through turnstyles. Its much easier and faster to sell pre printed tickets than it is to process S/T allocations for special matches hence the fact that 6000 tickets were sold in a short period of time for the Liverpool match.
I think opening Sunday 2 March .............. ......... (for ST holders) might go some way to solving some of the problems for those who can't get down cos they are working, not a great solution for the ticket office staff but think they are going to have to do something to get the tickets sold in time. A post below says 5,400 sold in the first week, that leaves about 8,000+ to sell to ST holders this week by my reckoning
RE: I think opening Sunday 2 March ..............
Ooh but don't all rush like you have been doing all the last week eh? We'll sell the same amount and half again if people don't rush ? No fecking chance.

juttyp, read my original post again, and think about what I said, I went down and was given a raffle ticket and told to come back later (app. 2hrs.) that was at 9am. not the crack of dawn, was driving out of the car park at 9.05am will go back in about three hours get served in about an hour no problem. So if you you really cant work out when to book a day off work after what I've said you have got problems.
