I was talking to someone quite high up in the club a couple of hours ago, and although they expect a few problems by using the methods they have set up, they feel it was the best way of sorting everything out. If anyone ticked the cup tie application box for the play offs, these are being posted out tomorrow, the box office staff have been printing these tickets off today. One of the main problems they have is that only the 4 computers in the box office have the facility to take card payments, so tomorrow they have the task of not only enveloping these, but processing the payment for each one and including the payment receipt with the ticket. This is not a quick task, and Huddersfield informed us last week that any tickets for the away leg would not be received until Monday afternoon at the earliest, therefore the decision was made to concentrate on the applications first and wait for the away leg tickets and put both types on sale on Tuesday morning. At present the club do not even know from Huddersfield how much the away tickets will be. Another problem they have is that they have under half the staffing levels that they had last time we were in the play offs in 2000, so very few staff have the job of selling a lot of tickets in next to no time, so selling the home and away leg tickets whilst the person is stood in front of them saves time for everyone having to queue and be processed twice. Another problem is anyone wanting a seat next to their own, this cannot be done, general sale tickets is to be given what you are given, each turnstile will sell tickets for a particular stand and you will be given the next tickets in the pile, this is to keep the queues flowing. Hope this clears up some of the queries still arising, my own opinion is maybe things could be slightly better organised, but with 4 days to fit everything in and very few staff to do it, I suppose they have to do what they feel is practical from a logistics point of view.
Not good enough. What about today?
If (and its a big if) HTFC said they could not get tickets to us by tommorow we should have withheld their tickets until they turned up.
Huddersfield have been selling away tickets TODAY.
The club give the impression that this has come as a surprise.
I know that things are difficult given the timescales but BFC seem to lack the little extra effort it takes to do a job properly.

So setting on a couple of extra agency staff to cope with the rush is beyond them is it? Not really bothered as they're open while 7:00pm and I can get down after work - just playing devil's advocate
I can accept what you're saying if we were mid-table and by some fluke the above six clubs had points deducted for being from London but the Play-off scenario has been with us for a few weeks ,where's the forward planning. The credit card excuse is ****** ,what happened to hand held swipe machines ,buisnesses can set these up in hours. If only we had someone with experience of providing computer systems to national organisations we would'nt have these problemsff
Why bother with tickets at all? Just turn up and pay in on the night first come first served, pick your own seat. It saves going down twice, you can sit with your mates, it's cash only so the club can stash a few quid and there's the added excitement of a few Udders paying in the home end or season ticket holders causing trouble when someone else has nicked their regular spot.
RE: Not good enough. Huddersfield fan here. Just to clear things up about us selling tickets today for the fixture on Thursday night. We haven't actually received tickets from Barnsley yet, bt we've been paying for them today and they will be posted out to us when HTFC receive them tomorrow.
I don't see how it would help though Huddersfield will now have to reprocess all those pre-paid "away game" applications and send the tickets out by post (possibly as late as Tuesday afternoon). Let's hope that the Royal Mail don't let them down. Barnsley fans will be able to walk away with both sets of tickets on Tuesday.
Why did HTFC need to? Because HTFC seem to have a grasp of the term customer service and because theres not much time to sell 20,000 tickets - thats why.

We will easily sell the 4000 away tickets before next monday. If anyone wants to go to the home leg they will get a ticket no problem, so why stress?
It would help because I and many other season ticket holders would now have
1. Our tickets for the home game
2. A voucher for the away game which could be exchanged over days following the home game thus taking pressure off the sales staff in the run up to the home game.
Many people find it difficult to get down to Oakwell during the week to obtain tickets. We have deliberately limited the time available to 3 days. 20,000 tickets, 3 days FFS.

Any Season ticket holder will be able to get a ticket over the three day spell. Any non season ticket holder will also have no problem getting a ticket.
6000 season tickets 4000 away tickets. ie 1/3rd will miss out. I have the luxury of being able to start work late to get mine.
If I was selfish I would not give a toss but I do wish it was fair for all.
If away tickets had been available today not only would 95% of ST holders had a fair chance of obtaining a ticket for the away leg but the admin headache of selling the remaining home tickets would have been eased.
Why try to compress the sale of 20,000(ish) tickets in 3 days when realistically we had 5 days?
Just a bit of thought and prior planning would have eased the situation.

RE: Not good enough. Oh yeah.. club lacks effort etc... god you don't half moan.. That's why they phoned around on Friday checking people's credit cards that might have expired since the box was ticked on the form...how do I know cos I got a call... oh no they don't plan do they. For god sake they have five days to sort out getting tickets to everybody give them a break.
If you are happy then fair enough I for one am sick of the way in which the club conducts its PR.
I will carry on "moaning" until it changes.
Being in the playoffs has been very likely since February. 5 days to plan, my fat arse.
