Been following Formula 1 for about 20 odd years but never actually been to a race - basically because I would expect only seeing one section of track isn't that exciting...has anyone been who can tell me if it is any good or not?

Now I realise it's quite expensive, the prices I've seen for Silverstone are over the top to say the least. If I don't get put off the idea I'm looking to go to the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa - does anyone know the best way to get tickets? Would probably just want the Sunday race ticket only, the new qualifying format is a joke.

I went for the first time in 2006 - see http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=39269

Can't help with tickets as I got mine free at the last minute when someone dropped out. But as I said then I'd definitely recommend going once for the experience and I enjoy watching it on TV more now I've got a feel for what it's like in real life.

    Cheers for that mate

Better get planning it now, was going to incorporate it into a stag weekend for my mate but don't think that will work somehow!

It's the sound that gets you

    Those engines sound something else.
