some people do talk *****. Hes been the best in england for years and he has made the best of what talents he has. Expectations are always too high but he has done alot for british tennis over the years, maybe not to be seen now, but in years to come

Bet you are really good at sport

It's easy to be a moaning detractor of anyone who makes the effort to become anything more than average.
Henman is a millionaire because he has been the best British tennis player ever. Just cos we have a seriously crap LTA with toffs refusing to welcome the majority of youngsters into the game shouldn't make us criticise someone who was in the top ten of his sport for ten years.

He was in the Top 10 in the World for a while

I hardly think "*****" tennis players get into the top 10.

Different era. Modern players so much better in every way than those in the past.

some people get off moaning though when really they couldnt do a better job given the talent. moaning has become something of a habit on this board though

    Exactly.

Not a big fan myself, mainly 'cos I hate tennis and that fist clenching thing he does, but to call him ***** is naive².

When you're the eigth best in the world at something...

...other than being a keyboard warrior, youcome back on here and start having a pop and people might just listen, till then shut up or look a fool.

Henman is a millionaire because he's won money from competitions, advertising and sponsorship. All of which he has earned.

Tim Henman, a pampered elitist, playing an elitist game............

a game that is at best a blue rinsed sport, for 2 weeks out of the year his name is splashed across the sports pages the other 50 weeks he's annonymous, he has gained notoriety through being an annual flop, if Eddie the Eagle had had Tiger Tim's management team he too would be basking in the world of a millionaire.

    You're on a windup Rufe ?

Sampras he isn't, but you can't knock him for what he has achieved. Money deserved and well earned.

But, like someone else said, I could cave his face in everytime he does that firs clenching thing

    But that's the point

That tennis is virtually a year round sport, it may not attract much interest here the rest of the time but it's going on, and he's winning money from tournaments during that time….contrary to popular belief in this country it isn't all about Wimbledon.

    You talk *****.

11 Singles titles, a finalist in 17 other tournaments. Was in the top 20 in the world for almost a decade, reaching worlds number 4 on several occasions.

You don't win $12 million for being *****. Few professional tennis players achieve that level. If you were to ask any pro they have nothing but respect for Tim Henman has achieved in the game.

What have you achieved in your life? (givinfinger)

Oh yes, those titles just roll off the tongue, about as interesting as......

The Skegness Open, The Kendray Masters or perhaps The Blacker Hill Gold Cup.

$12 MIL you say? well, the man's a thief.

Rufus, BFC can be quite SH

ITE at times too, but they still get 10k folk shelling out to watch them every week as a form of entertainment.

Fair enough, he's never won owt but FFS if all the players who are deemed "losers" quit then there would only be Federer left. He plays for a living. He has ups and downs, just like all Pro sportsmen and women. If he gave it up he would not be earning the dosh his talent warrants.

No I'm only counting the international titles on the full senior ATP tour, including master-series tournaments - all over the world against the world's elite - geddit?

$12 million was won through talent, by beating the top world players - not stolen

Like I said - what have you ever achieved in your life? (wnkr)
