Well, is it? You'd think its going to happen in the professional mens game sooner or later, why not us now? Any reason a woman couldn't effectively coach a mens team?

If she can organise a team, play tactics that make sense and get the players on board with her methods. Why not?

We've currently got a male that can do none of the above and it's proving disastrous.

I would support this and would be interested to see the candidates.

In principle why not? I just think that at this precise moment in time we can't afford any risks. Relegation would be catastrophic.

And that goes for appointing anyone untried, female or otherwise.

I said this prior to Schopps appointment.
I'm not into women's football at all but check out Emma Hayes. Great to listen to her insights on games.
Bright. Articulate. A good analyst; and apparently a top motivator.
    Why not? **** or bust.

The issue is women don't even get a chance at the men's game to build up experience as a coach to one day be qualified better for the top job.

Employing a female head coach would break sexuality barriers too. There are quite a few lesbians play and coach in the women's game.

Emma Hayes is a cracking coach, she communicates really well and doesn't overcomplicate the game.

So many modern coaches try to reinvent the game, and claim they've created new styles and approaches. All false they've just redeployed a style previously used. For example bomb alley.

Brian Clough said this so many times. He played 442, but no game was quite the same. He changed things to get his key players on the ball as quick as possible, and made sure the spine of his team was strong.

Wenger reinvented the game in England, not the style but the preparation and science. Though he took those ideas from working on the continent and having specific qualifications. Can't think of anyone else who's actually introduced new things to the English game.

It's like "the high press". That's just getting after teams. It isn't anything new.

Our penny pinching owners might well go down this route citing value for money as she’d be able to do the washing and ironing as well.

And she could multi task effectively too, that would be a welcome bonus.

Couldn't care less who the next coach is. Male, female, Chinese, innuit, silverback gorilla, alien as long as they do a good job.

Done well it's more organised and planned imo i.e. there are circumstances which trigger specific tasks for players etc

We've already got a bit of a "washerwoman" in charge haven't we? (Meant to be humorous as opposed to being sexist btw)

A thread like this was always going to attract plays on words and flippant sexism.
