Not just because of today, but its been blatantly clear for a long time that some of the players arn't able to compete at Championship level. El Hamouir, Macken, Odejayi, Souza & Cureton are all really, really poor players and need to be shipped on. Rigters isn't much better, but at least he has been having a go at times recently, more than anything that can be said for that idle Barsteward Macken.

Some money needs to be spent this month!

Rigters better than Macken and Cureton???? think Curetons been trying lately too, hence his two goals.

A bit harsh on Cureton. Let's not forget the 2 quality goals he's scored in the last 2 games.
He's one of those strikers who plays off the shoulder of the last defender. Penalty box poachers like him always appear lazy but will score goals.
Our problem is we don't create chances for that type of player, which is another reason why I don't believe Jamie Ward would have been the answer

Curetons awful, he offers nothing to the team and is quite some way past his prime. He is most certainly not the answer.

Not a chance DonnyRed mate. Souza was one of the better players today and has really come on leaps and bounds this season.

I think Cureton's better than you give him credit for, he's played what, 6 games?, and scored 2 goals, ok 1 every 3 isnt ideal but he's better than everyone else we've got and he's played a damn sight less than KO and Rigters. As for Souza, i think he's a decent player, had his name on my shirt last season, don't think he's been as good this year but he's not the worst player on our team by far and we'd be making a mistake if we 'shipped him out'.

Cureton's started 7 games for us

Which is 2 more than Rigters and the same as Odejayi has this season. He's scored 2 good goals, but I've been disappointed with the rest of his play. He should have scored today, he had 2 very good chances.

Macken in particular is a joke. He's lazy and misses simple chances that Odejayi would be hounded for, yet no-one wants to see it. The only striker have who's good enough is Hume, and obviously hes unnavailable at the minute.

Souza makes too many mistakes, we look shaky whenever he plays and he's far too slow. If we were to keep him, he'd have to be a squad player until we get someone better.

    ABSOLUTE FECKING *****...

macken defiantly should stay... we knew when we got him he was'nt going to be a 20 goal a season striker... as iv said before he's not there to score... hes there to work defenders and he does that... just so happened that today he was up against 2 defenders that had a really good game... cureton is our biggest goal threat as a striker at the minute.. definatly shouldnt go anywhere... rigters should be sent back.... souza is a decent defender... just off form.... great player to have in the squad... yes he's off form but with an ijury at centre back we have no cover!!!!

agree about el manure and odewankjob... but rest of the post is absolute B*ll*cks

and as for davey out... one loss and all of a sudden your all back again... bout time you lot grew up.. we aint going to get rid and it about time you get used to the idea... there no-one better available... and he aint that bad.. there alot worse about.

Odejayi does all that, and with much more effect. I remember I once got hounded for saying Odejayi's not nessacerily on the pitch to score, so Mackens not getting away with that one!

Can I also ask, what exactly has Macken done this season? He's got a couple of tap ins, other than that, **** all. Infact whats he done since he's been at the club? Not too much.

    RE: ABSOLUTE FECKING *****...

A goal every 3.5 games from Macken for us. As good a strike rate as we have had for a while. I reckon Hume and Macken are good enough for this division. Macken has some bad games but he does a decent holding up job and his 8 or so goals a season would be useful if the other strikers were getting similar. Hume is proven at this level and we could expect him to get 10+. The rest can go. I would keep Cureton for the full loan period, or until we make a couple of permanent signings, or other loan signings until the end of the season.
