I'm all for a bit of optimism. Especially with regard to what might yet happen this season.

But at the risk of again being pigeon holed with the hangers and floggers (hello DT!), and defiled as not a proper supporter, I do not detect any significant improvement at all this season over last....in a division lower against opposition inferior to last season's.

I appreciate that these things can take time. Fair enough – but let's not fool ourselves that everything is presently going acceptably.

Let's not fool ourselves that overall we've been playing well, as many seem to on here. A few victories for fans who have been starved of such novelties over recent years has been most heart warming, but we are now playing less exalted sides.

Let's not fool ourselves either into thinking that Danny is building some unique-to-us Utopian home grown/youthful team. He's doing what your usual career manager does: Blending all sorts - without the target man, holding midfielder and replacement for Williams he's said he needs.

Why Danny cannot find these (by his own admission) essential players I do not know. If it could be reasonably explained I might even buy a “happy clappy” t-shirt.

Recently the performances have been more horrid than the results. And haven't the home results been the worse for the last 40 years or so?

I never boo at the match except at some refereeing decisions. I stay to the end. I turn up come what may. And we have no divine right to win any football game.

I'm entitled to think however that something isn't right, yet optimistic enough to believe it all isn't horribly wrong.

Time for some proof on the pitch.

Fact.. Of the three teams that were relegated last season from the championship. We are the highest placed at 15..

Not saying its great... but the shadow of relegation is proving hard to shake off..Which some of us thought would be the case..

If some people put half as much effort into supporting the team.. Instead of whining on like a set of spoiled brats The team may do a little better

We are all in this together, thick n thin, like it or not...Time to man-up and get behind our club and support..

Wow that IS a fact that will send me to sleep soundly tonight.

Donny are equal on points but with a game in hand.

If the point of your post was to expect everyone to blindly carry on with wild enthusiasm and blind faith irrespective of what their eyes show them, then perhaps North Korea is your kind of place.

I support at the match. I say what i saw (if sufficiently motivated) on here after.

The reason Ive been vocal tonight is that we are in a rebuilding process wether folk like it or not or wanna call it as such.

We've got rid of the journeyman disasters who some of which openly said they didnt enjoy laikin with us and picking up their massive pay cheques. Written by Keef and Flicker.

DW takes over, obviousyl needed to clear the decks and decided to sign, young hungry laikers, some of which will pay off, others might not. My main gripe is, that post Chesterfield the board was in promotion bound meltdown! Granted, 5 games later and some dire performances late and now forced into playing some lads who arent really ready folk want DW out....... weve had 8/9 maqnagers in 10 years........... you tell me the progress

Have you not seen our bench? We've stopped playing journeymen disasters, but Wilson has still signed a few - I think they were called 'marque signings' at the time of presentation.

I think it's hard for us to progress, not least because (football being a money distorted business these days) we are probably a Champ/Div 1 team anyway.

It's just me, but I bristle at those who try to tell me I ought to be seeing summat to believe in on the pitch.

I can wait to see it. Lord knows we've all had to be faithful and patient.

But why pick on Wilson as the one who bucks the trend of managers? Why is he the Chosen One? We all know why.. But what evidence is there so far?

I can wait. But not fool my own eyes.
