After the gulf war of 1990-91 thousands of innocent people suffered. During and after the Iraq war of 2003-11 thousands of innocent people suffered. What confidence do you have that we can make things right this time?
Military intervention leads to suffering. We're not going to ease suffering by dropping bombs on people. It was wrong to go back into Iraq last time, we went in under false pretences. Now Tony Blair is on the TV advocating that we should be back in there again. Mind you he was in the broadsheets not very long ago telling us to invade Syria and even China. He's off his rocker. We can't afford another war, there is no evidence that war is an appropriate solution, our military is completely over stretched, and finally, it's about time the Arab league got their own house in order.
Blair's a psychopath, and hilariously, a Middle East peace envoy, doing a great job there Tone, nice and peaceful over there.
As much as I would like to see the innocent people in Iraq protected from these militant extremists I feel it is time that the country and its government stood on their own two feet and looked after their own internal affairs.
Who funded and armed ISIS? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-backs-rebels-to-fight-al-Qaeda-in-Syria.html
When will we learn the lesson we have been trying to SORT this mess out for 2000 years.. we havent done it yet NOR will we in the future... as long as people hide behind relegious rhetoric it will always be a problem.. ...
Don't mean to be controversial, but as interesting as that article is, it's about Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the US funding rebel groups who were fighting against ISIS. It's not about the funding of ISIS itself.
Jay is correct, the West are funding the fight against this group. ISIS were once headed by a bloke called Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and they were originally knows as Tiwad and Jihad before becoming Al Qaeda in Iraq during the war years. They were responsible for countless atrocities including the beheadings of hostages including Ken Bigley - Zarqawi was said to be personally responsible for the executions. They were warned by Al Qaeda about their extreme brutality years ago but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Zarqawi was killed by a US air strike a few years ago but as the evidence now shows his replacement was equally extreme and brutal and follows the same radical philosophy.
If blair so keen to go back to iraq get him on frontline wonder if he would change his mind **** leave well clear instead of opening another can of worms got enough of our own problems
