Watching Crystal Palace last weekend with “Glad All Over” and the crowd bouncing to a tune nobody adopts got me thinking. Radio Gaga Get it going pre match as they’re walking out. Easy to sing and clap to. Clap with both hands raised in the air Freddy esque at Wembley followed at the end with “Barnsley We love You” at end of Chorus. Nobody has it and it could look brilliant if all 3x stands do it pre and post match after a win. Pie in the sky???
I'll throw a song in if we need a new one How about Guns n Roses Welcome to the jungle But we are known for Timerider
Yes mate, awful. I'd prefer something with a local connection, maybe a recording of Grimey pit band or summat?
Timerider's not a song though. Doing a slow handclap to a dated tune is hardly likely to get either the players or the fans going. Sheff Wed, Sheff U, Leeds, Liverpool etc create a great atmosphere with their respective club songs. We need our own song to get behind the club at any stage during the match.
"The dunt like change" should be the club's motto. Agreed with Timerider, we need something the crowd can sing to, numerous clubs now adopting new songs - Coventry, Forest etc.
Look how many kids there are. You’re not going to get 5000 pensioners jumping up and down for 2 and a half minutes. I presume that song came about as some connection to a big event, you can’t just play a song and expect that to happen. Had we won at Wembley last time the song they played before extra time when we were only swinging our scarves may have stuck as a song to get the fans going.
