I was talking to an Ipswich supporting mate of mine today and we we're obviously bemoaning our results from last night. I asked him what was going wrong at Portman Road as, after a good 3-0 at Brizzle City on the opening day they've now lost their last three at home (seem familiar?!). He said that their fans are putting it down to the number of new signings that they're trying to accommodate at the same time whilst trying to get over the loss of some of their better players (e.g. Wickham). If you look around the Championship you can see a similar pattern. Leicester have spent £9 million on 11 new players and have lost both their home games. Cardiff have a changed team and have lost at home tonight. In contrast the settled sides of Southampton and Brighton are flying. Could it possibly be that, once our new signings settle down in a few week's time we'll start to play a bit better? I've heard the 'signings from lower leagues, pay peanuts, etc' argument a number of times now but it didn't seem to do Norwich any harm last season. It's just a thought from the glass half full perspective of this evening compared to my glass drained dry view of last night!
You might be right, lets hope so but you won't see Sven coming out slagging the fans for booing or Jewell for that matter
