Don't think we will claw back a penny we spent on him.

or the £400K we spent on Mostto or the £200k we spent on Kim.

    £800K on Strikers, that nearly £100K a goal !!!!!!!

istvan has scored more goals than hm, simple
and he would have hit the target from 10 yard out

Play him in central midfield... he can win a ball, hold it up, pass it, run with it. He just can't function in the last 3rd. Doesn't have a shot in him, he just takes as many touches as he can then kicks the ball away.

Perhaps we should have an Official Optician for the club so that Davey can see his limitations. Then again, Davey said he thought we acquitted ourselves well today so must've been at a different match.

    theyre all useless.....

only striker worth keeping is Macken.
A year ago Nards may well have buried OK's chance today, but not this season, he's living on past glories and needs sending back to QPR.

we had options better than him available today. sorry but we've gone beyond making excuses up

    christensen....
    foster
    leon
    howard

all would have been better off finishing the game up front instead of him

I see your point, but then we have/had no cover for Howard (having to do everything in the middle by himself!) or Leon. Lacking in real quality on a few positions even after all these signings

    Just those 4?

I actually wonder if we should have swapped KO and Foster round if he was going to stay on - KO might make a decent centre half - and as discussed on the bus after the game at least there is no danger of him scoring an own goal either

Unfortunately he will never be a championship striker - he is 26 - played 40 matches for us and is like a rabbit in the headlights when he gets sight of goal

in which case surely the manager has failed in his objectives for the season

    and should be sacked.

By my reckoning Simon davey has brought in 18 (thats EIGHTEEN) players that are at the club today and to have failed to provide cover or options in practically every position just shows how badly he has done

Much like odejayi when approaching the net

I ran out of energy and couldnt be arsed to list more players. I would go as far as to say that if luke steele played up front for 40 games then he would have managed more than 2 goals.

Don't think he should be sacked. Do think he could benefit with experience along side him.

I also think he's done well in terms of Keepers - 2 of the best in the championship I think, and we have a decent defence - with decent cover for both full backs and a few centre halves to pick from.

I don't think we can under-estimate the importance of losing de Silva either. Has affected our creativity massively

    That's true

however davey should have known that there was a good chance of losing de silva when he only signed him on loan originally. He allowed the loan to run out and didn't bring anyone in to replace him which cost us a lot of points in the middle of the season.

I think that the defence is quite good but we still seem short having to play people out of position if a left back gets injured/suspended.

As for the midfield, well there is absolutly no cover at all. probably would be if he grew up a bit but then that is the same case for the strikers.

barnsley are playing the wages of players that SHOULD have at the very least been on the bench today, unfortunatly the manager who signed them refuses to play them

    RE: That's true

Who knows what happened after the loan. Maybe he couldn't bring someone else in who he thought was good enough quality. Perhaps he was always confident of signing him and so thought another signing was unnecessary. I don't know.

You are right though in a way about cover in defence, but I'm sure most teams would settle for the defenders we have to choose from.

I can't speak about Christensen...don't remember seeing him, but thought Johnson looked very poor. Personally I'd rather have someone like Togwell there, surely he will improve the more he plays whereas Johnson is reaching/has reached the end of his career.

i'd agree with that about togwell/johnson but in that case why waste money signing him?

Christensen looked sharp when i saw him, put himself about a bit and had a good touch. Certainly no worse than the other 57 strikers that davey has signed.
