3 points tomorrow is a lot more important than some fancy trip to Wembley. Anyone can be motivated for big games but the true test will be when the chips are down and with games at home to Ipswich and away at Crystal Palace to come, our league form really has to change. (titanic)
Give over....... Yes three points are important and the players should maintain focus. However, I reckon will see at least 8 more promotions and 8 more relegations in my life. (but probably the other way round) It's just a game and I'll turn up week in week out whatever. But what are the games you remember - the games that keep you going. They are Wembley - Cardiff and games like Saturday. The games you tell your kids about. This season, whether we stay up or get relegated I won't talk about any game particuarly other than cup run. And I'd take relegation and winning the cup every time. Why - becuase if history is any barometer it is unlikely to happen again in my life. An FA cup final, watching Barnsley. Jesus I'd have given my left ballack. Since promotion the premier league I wondered how we ever managed to stay awake during 15 years in the same division! I think the game against Bradford was such a wonderful feeling because it was a decade and more of nothing to shout about all spilling out at once. I can only think of another seven or eight games where I've felt anything like that. And two of them have been in the cup this year. If we go down I will be very sad, but the difference between that and getting to the FA cup final - I can't believe there's any comparison.
**** me... ...come a midweek match next January at the Well against say Cheltenham when we're say 12th in league one playing in front of say 7k fans, the FAcup will seem a very long time ago.
The way to make this club grow is through league status so maintaining our Championship position is of paramount importance.

in total agreement, although both would be nice and to see cardiff get 10 point deduction drop into league 1 would wipe the grin of peter skintsdale and the greedy barsteward that is mcphail
I don't know what M1 Tyke's on about but the long term benefits of the club are league survival and sustainability. Yeah, a cup semi-final or final is a sweetener but how would that feel come the end of April when we look like we're playing against Walsall, MK Dons and Leyton Orient.
How on earth can you even think getting to the cup final is of more importance than staying in the championship? Everything about the championship is totally and utterly better than league one. Whether it's the standard of football being played, the big away attendances brought, the players on show and last but certainly not least, the stadiums you visit. I mean, The Ricoh or Boundary Park? Carrow Road or Gresty Road? St. Mary's or Roots Hall? Now be serious mate, **** me.
Im with M1 Tyke 96 years since we won it, 96 years. We may never get this chance again, not in our lifetime.
If we go down then its bad BUT we will at some stage come back up, We are never going to be a massive club so when opportunities like this arise we should take them.
To win in the F.A Cup final would be incredible and if it was at the cost of relegation then for me so be it.

You're right, we need to stay up... But to win the FA Cup would be incredible, an astonishing achievement for a side that was in administration just a few years ago and hasn't won it in 96 years. We SHOULD have the quality, drive, determination and skill to remain in this league AND win the FA Cup... that's what I'm desperately hoping for.
If we won the FA Cup it would be one of the biggest shocks in the history of English football! It would be something that none of us would ever forget, and like M1 Tyke said, it's possible that we'll never get another opportunity like this again. I'm sure that we'll get relegated and promoted many many times during the next 96 years, but winning the FA Cup would be something so amazing. They could make a cheesy Hollywood sports movie about our FA Cup run!!
RE: You're right, we need to stay up...
sorry mate but its about time I did it to someone else. they keep doing it to me

And here was me thinking It was gonna be a post congratulating me on being positive on thinking we can achieve both objectives
No Chance its taken me ages to get someone, I seem to drop a ballok everyday PS , congrats on being positve
RE: I'm sure most fans are torn between cup & league survival ...but it's out of our hands. The BFC website rolls out players for interviews before league games, spouting on about how important 3 points is. That's all forgotten when they cross the white line. They pplay like they're trying to avoid suspensions/fatigue for the cup matches. Between the fantastic cup performances, the team has played down to the level of the opposition in Championship matches. Hence no wins. Enjoy the cup run, we stand a great chance of making the FA Cup Final (still can't believe we're one match away) On league survival, get real. If its not a priority for the players, we're relying on other teams for it, so it's best not to dwell on it
