We have discussed on various threads the need to give time to a manager. Also how LJ has had Long enough. But what do we see as a reasonable timescale. I know progression is measured through the managers tenure, but when you look at some of the modern game managerial changes, there are some managers who achieve some levels of success and clear progress pretty early in their reign.
I'm not bothered anymore whether he stays or goes as it will change sod all in the long run. He's had 29 league games with us. Won 9, Drawn 8, Lost 12. Goals for 36, Goals against 36. Poor, but not quite relegation form. If we take away the 4 game winning run instigated by Burton and Heckingbottom, it reads Won 5, Drawn 8, Lost 12, Goals for 28. Goals against 35. 28 goals in 25 games. More worryingly, 5 wins in 25 games. That's relegation form and the table agrees. He's not had a great deal of time, but it's literally only been downhill since he got here. People can talk about potential and time, but those stats suggest quite simply that he's just not a very good manager. Can we get anyone better? Don't know. But we'd do well to get anyone worse.
