After the debate a few days ago, I just clicked on D/T's signature and it's that. It actually made me smile and gave me a few shivers because it reminded me of the Danny years. It is cheesy no doubt, but I would love to have it back as I think sometimes you should have tradition and we should stick with this one!

    Rubbish.

Everyone knows that the players should come out to "Push It" by Salt 'n' Pepa.
They just don't have the balls to say it.

    I think you'll find I'm right.
    Again.

I love it, full blast in a big crowd, nothing better! We should get it going a minute or so before the players come out v Forest!

It would never make top 5 lists would it but i like it as the entrance music - they just have to get it co-ordinated to the team walking out.

The problem with timerider was not that its a cheesey song

It was simply that for some reason they started playing it either 10 minutes before the team appeared meaning that by the time they got on the pitch people were bored of it and had lost enthusiasm or they played it AFTER the team were on the pitch which was just pointless.

Get the timing right like we used to (watch some old videos if you need to to learn how to time something) and get fanfare for the common man playing before it like we used to and maybe we'll get a pre match atmosphere like we used to before they started pissing about with the music.

Bring back the "Clap Clap Song" ............

Remember sitting on the wall between the Ponte and the Brewery stand corner with this blaring out of the old megaphone style PA speakers before a match when I were a young 'un. It almost made a match watching a Mel Machin team tolerable.

Wonder what Everton fans would say if Z Cars was suddenly pulled. There's always someone who wants to change things for the sake of it. Many on here did. Give me tradition any day.

    again its timing

we are subjected to over 5 minutes (often closer to 10) of that god awful 'classical' piece and are regularly told by the stadium announcer that 'the team are in the tunnel' a god 5 minutes before they appear which results in everybody who stood up having sat back down from boredom and a totally flat atmosphere when the players finally do appear to two tribes.

The other week the announcer actually said "the players are in the tunnel and the referee is knocking on the changing room door". If they're already in the tunnel then why the hell is he knocking on the door of the changing room?

The whole matchday experience needs looking at at barnsley.

I used to hate that clap clap rubbish. Always had visions of Germans in Leiderhosen dancing on a table. I don't think much of Timerider either, doesn't make the hair stand up on my neck. I like the Fanfare of the Common Man best out of the ones we have used but that isn't great.

wasnt fanfare for the common man used WITH timerider?

Used to play the opening of fanfare which then cut into timerider. Timed right that used to build the atmosphere as the fanfare was like a call to the fans. It was a shout of 'its time' that got everyone to their seats, made them stand up and then timerider belted out as the team came down the tunnel.

none of this playing music 10 minutes before crap
