Personally I go to football matches to be entertained by rival fans fighting with each other. It's brilliant

Folk want a Matchday atmosphere. Zero at moment. At least it gave us something to clap to.

Keep the White Stripes maybe change song to Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, quite appropriate.

Like the White Stripes music but does it really matter.

It doesn't matter what they play to be honest unless they sort out the timing. Take the 'atmospheric' music they play before players come out. They play it so early that it means nothing, no atmosphere builds at all. Then they either put the intro music on and make the claim that the players are in the tunnel 4 hours before they come trudging out or they fall asleep and only start playing it as they get halfway across the pitch. To make matters worse 'this is a message a message' has a tendancy to decide that is the perfect time to start telling us a 47 digit registration number completely drowning out any music.

    Things that need to change:
    1. Scrap the long slow music 20 minutes before they come out. Trying to extend the atmosphere for so long will never work.
    2. Time the actual tune better. It needs to start about a minute before they come out of the tunnel and it needs to really start with a bang, not a whimper. When it starts people need to know it's started, this is why fanfare for the common man was the perfect intro to timerider. You knew instantly it was show time. With 7 nation army or even just timerider on its own if you're not paying attention it's just another song. Start a minute or so before the players enter and allow the atmosphere to build, the players should exit the tunnel at the same point in the song every week.
    3. Turn the bloody tunnel so it faces the pitch. It is a movable tunnel so how about pulling it in the direction of the pitch, not the direction of a brick wall on the side of an empty stand.
    4. NO interuptions from the announcer while players are coming out. None at all.
    5. Young kids waving the flags need to be lined up better, they don't line up in line with the tunnel at all and it just looks awkward, instead of the players being flanked as they enter the pitch they have to side step around the kids and become obscured by them.
    6. Do the line-up in the middle of the pitch, not right in front of an empty west stand. Earlier in the season (Scunny or a friendly) they lined up in front of the east stand and the atmosphere was much better.
    7. The overall volume before the match needs to be better controlled, too loud in some places, too quiet in others. It should be background music that is an acceptable level throughout and then when it comes to the themetune it gets cranked up. It's basic stuff used throughout the entertainment industry.

    Just my thoughts

It's not even been clapped to since Premiership. Before the Swansea play off they played the Gladiator theme tune, Opera/Dance mix, it may have been Dave Pearce mix. Made hairs on my toes stand up

It was clapped to after then. Didn't it stop getting clapped to around the point when Jason and Lenny left? Coincidence?

Have to say I agree with these points, it's the little things that make a BIG difference. I don't have twitter but I really miss Timerider, I have so many memories of me and my dad turning up late and running down full pelt to the stadium, along with other late comers, upon hearing that being played. It's always got my heart thumping since then! To me, it just doesn't seem like a Barnsley match without it.

Funny as we still clap it at back of Ponty when it was played and now still 'sing it' on away days

They could tell the headmaster that we get that we need to make some noise and get him to stop that cringeworthy rallying call.

Still got Timerider as my ringtone. Not a fan of 7 Nation Army because loads of clubs use it and chant the same song, including the Blunts. It's generic.
    Here are my suggestions:
    .
Change the PA guy. He's garbage, cringeworthy etc.
    .
The instrumental version of All That We Are, by Angels And Airwaves would be the entrance music. It's ideal. And would be unique to us.
    .
Scrap goal music, unless Paddy scores - I Just Can't Get Enough.
    .
And generally just sing about Paddy, Bobby, Wisey and COGba etc.
    .

I really miss timerider, seems silly really but it feels like something is missing, and apart from winning....this is it for me!! I loved it when I first came in 96 and still loved it even when the clapping wasn't done for long. The timerider twist done a year or 2 ago was really decent, recent goals (commentary) kept coming in every 10 seconds while the music faded in and out. But either way the new music is......OK - but timerider must be brought back and should always have a slot somewhere, either on it's own or alongside other music.

For me, it should come on bang on and no later than 2.54, and run for at least a minute or so before the teams start to appear!! It's unique to us like Chelsea, Everton & Newcastle etc all have had the same music for years!!

I first attended a match in 96 too. I liked the recent commentary too, but always got confused when it was on the radio whether we had kicked off or not :p (I was young!)
