Stevie They are falling down, The company I work for has been working on that site for th last 2 1/2 years and lots of bits fall off everyday, theyare not safe and it would cost more than £3 million to put them right. At least that is what I was told by the fellow that is in charge of the demolition. It was only announced a few weeks ago that they were definitely being blown up, but we have known since before Easter that they were coming down this weekend.
Watched Grimey tower go from engine lane, so these 2 must be some sight, not to mention the damage that could be done to the M1 if everything is not perfect,
Shame they are going.. When driving home from Guernsey, when i saw them i knew i was back home in Yorkshire, NOT sheffield, YORKSHIRE, M1 wont be the same again...sad loss.
Amen to that..... ... I'll be there at 3am to give them a send off. Always known them as the "Salt and Pepper Pots" due to the different holes in the top.

The one over here is a replica... ... of a sculpture at the company's site in Avesta, Sweden, that was created by artist Lars Andersson. The Sheffield bison was the work of his son, Jonas Hohental.
