Barnsley Football Club makes very little profit and over the last few years has run at a loss. Thanks to Pat Cryne the club has moved in the right direction. To charge an additional £2 to £5 on ticket prices and for a one in twenty years occasion is hardly robbing people it’s a case of making a little extra where ever possible to sustain and progress the club forward! All additional revenue is pumped back into the club in some way. Barnsley FC as its run today, it’s almost a non profitable organisation and for people to even think about boycotting the game doesn’t deserve the privilege to call themselves Barnsley FC Supporters! £5 X 23,000 = £115,000 X 45% revenue the club is only gaining £51,750 hardly massive is it? I Doubt it even covers the Policing Bill! I cannot understand the small mindedness of the Barnsley public, it was only in 2003 the club almost went bust and only in 2007 the club made a small profit. That’s 4 years of Pat Cryne and the board pouring their hard earned cash into a financial black hole to turn the club around. This done by their Love of Barnsley FC as there has been no substantial financial gain for any of them! Beating Liverpool at Anfield and the joy surrounding that day is their reward for all their hard work, on the other hand reading comments on this board about them robbing the fans they must sometimes wonder why they even bothered! What I am trying to get across here from the Middle East is be grateful for the club we have got, pack out “Oakwell” not just for the Chelsea game but for the championship games. I am sure that if we could average 16 to 18K per home game the additional revenue would be back into the club and seriously we would be knocking on the door of the premiership. There is no better atmosphere at any stadium in the world than a packed “Oakwell”. The last time I was in the UK a saw the Southampton game the place was like a morgue and can’ be an easy job for anyone to sell the club to a potential players especially ones wanted by so called bigger clubs, somehow Simon Davey and the Board managed to pull the signings off at the end of the transfer window, not to mention “Sir Pat” putting his hands in his own pockets to fund transfer fees and extra wages! The Board have the vision that is evident I wish the Barnsley Public had the same view, if so the club would rise much quicker! The old 1980’s and 1990’s statement valid up until 1997 about the club having no ambition is buried. There is no excuse to not support Barnsley FC with additional revenue!
'most' ? Did you see Jay's reaction to Barnsley's increased ticket prices ? How strange. He just potted onto the internet with his head down.
Mind, he's white so I can say what i want about him.

thowt it were only thee , Me and JLWBL who were gay...you mean there are MORE and you hid this from me...you charlatan
Well i'm not married and i have a habit of wearing pink aswell. Which on the BBS gay-o-meter probably ranks me alongside Andy Bell and Jimmy Sommerville.
If you were too far from home to skip and had to catch a bus to get there, would it be 'going in the other direction' at all and would you be humming the theme tune to Beaches?
That is one of the best postings on here in a long time and I echo 100% every point you have made my friend. As a one off, I wouldn't have minded paying up to £50.00, because you have hit the nail right on the head - the club is run by people who love it and who are not out to make money for themselves. All the money is re invested back in. I do worry about what's going to happen when Shep and Cryne are no longer in charge. So for the moment, let's enjoy the stability and relative success and not be moaning about an extra £5.00 ( equates to just 2 pints of beer after all!).
I'm afraid not, my immaculate sense of direction would ensure that i didn't go in the other direction and, alas, i don't know the theme tune to beaches.
Well, having assessed your answers, I have to conclude that you're not gay. Not being married lost you points though, gay men don't get married obviously. Like Michael Barrymore, Elton John and **ahem*** Ashley Cole for example.
