....obviously I haven't been to the match today, but I've had a running text commentary from a family member at the match. As it became apparent that it wasn't going to be our day, I was feeling physically sick. I'm sure all of you at Oakwell had this reaction and then some as Chesterfield scored the second, we hit the post etc. But.... I am now in a bar with friends, asking exactly what I flew to London for last weekend. I'm showing them the photos, the videos, explaining how incredible it was, how the atmosphere was so friendly, how I saw my team win at Wembley for the first time ever. Immediately I felt a fuzzy warm contentment wash over me. Wembley for foreign football fans is legendary to the point of being like Narnia. Today was a very important game, no doubt. I'm very disappointed that we lost. But an unfortunate league defeat against Chesterfield will be pretty much forgotten by Wednesday morning if we beat Oldham on Tuesday. Winning a cup at Wembley? I'll remember that until the day I die.
Play offs still a very ralmpssibilityvwuth this group of players. At times in the second half today our football was sublime. We are a good team. One defeat doth not a summer make!
I think feeling "physically sick" is overdoing it a bit. We're used to disappointment down the 'Well.
The best predictive text word ever - "ralmpssibilityvwuth". I'm going to spend the evening trying to think of a sentence with that word in it.
Coached by the legendary Ranatungadanthathroata Oh I wish I could find those classic cricket spoofs from years ago. Tony Greig, Ian Chappell, Bill Lawry, Richie Benaud. All voiced by brilliant impressionists. Had a load of them years ago, but lost somehow. Anyone remember the titles?
It's also the same sound that it makes when it comes back up, and slithers down the toilet around midnight.
Good point. ralmpssibilityvwuth sounds like the first word I came out with when trying to speak to a beautiful girl.
ralmpssibilityvwuth is my own personal language when I'm asked if I'm supposed to buy the first round
Happens a lot. Team wins a trophy then back to league business and get beat. Unfortunately thats how it seems to go.
