    Step forward Sam Togwell.
Extremely limited ability but managed to con some supporters by running about a lot and generally looking busy without actually contributing anything
I once took my eye off a particularly drab game to watch him and he blatantly went out of his way to make sure he was never in a position to receive the ball.
A Ritchie signing for our assault on the Championship whose career before and after he played for us amounted to not very much at all.

Just highlights the difference in the calibre of player we're recruiting this time around. Think we'll really make a good go of it this season.

I think you're right and we have good reason to be optimistic.

Quite a few. Mike Sheron, Miles Addison, Miguel Mostto, Kevin Gallen, Lee Jones, Kayode Odejayi, Diego Leon, Don Goodman........could go on. Must have missed loads

I'll take some stick for this... but Hugo Colace for me. He didn't seem to excel at anything inparticular and from MY viewpoint appeared to spend most of his time trundling about flicking the ball forward to no one specific. He had a good run of games under Mark Robins and managed to net a good few goals during a decent spell for the team and I honestly think this put him on a pedestal he didn't really warrant being on. Plus his catchy name probably helped... HUUUUUUUUGGGOOOOO! Nice lad it seems and fair play to him for coming back last year to try his luck again, but he'd be my pick.

I meant overrated by our own fans and with the exception of Sheron (who I happened to rate highly), I'm not sure if any of the other names you mention qualify.

Would have to be one of the many players we have had who run about a lot but don't achieve much - Jim O'Brien, Brendan O'Connell, David Perkins, etc. O'Brien would be my choice. I'll never forgive him for giving the ball away in the last minute at Hillsborough two years ago,

Hugo Colace is the winner hands down.

Anderson De Silva has to be up there for me. Was decent for a while but I think injury slowed him down massively.

I suppose Paddy McCourt could be up there too. Possibly the single most skillful player I have ever seen in a red shirt, but showed it twice in 12 months. That goal against Boro was complete and utter genius and definitely not a fluke, but other than that other decent goal against Brighton, he never really looked like repeating it. Suppose that's why he was at Oakwell.

Never really a fan of Lee Butler for some reason. Most of our players even the ***** ones I have some sort of affection for but I could never take to him or Wayne Bigging for some reason.

Take your pick. Bogdanovic, JCR, Howard, Brownhill but my clear winner would be Hugo Colace. Now there was a player who could do **** all worth having on a football pitch.

We had some other full back constantly refused to mark his man great with last min tackles which won him loads of plaudits. If he had ****ed up to start with it wouldn't have been necessary

Compare that to how eas George Williams lade ot look last season

Didn't we employ him just to be a 'character'.

David Fox was one that never did anything of note and was a total passenger having had a decent career elsewhere, likewise Gary Teale, Julian Gray, Michael Tonge.

But those don't really fit the criteria of being overrated within our fanbase. For that, Marc Richards was one I never really liked, given he kept Nardiello out of the side quite often. Campbell-Ryce never enthused me as much as other fans.

Yes and at great expense I seem to recall.
Bit like that bearded full back the blunts have nowadays. What's his face? I've had a few now but the male equivalent of fur coat and no knickers.
