His contract was awarded for a 4 year period, HOWEVER, his contract is a rolling contract which means that if his contract is terminated he will only get ONE YEARS SALARY and not as many people think whch is that his contract will be paid up in full. This type of contract is becoming more popular with Managers in the football league as it takes the risk away to a degree when the appointment is not succesful.
That was the case with Steve Parkin but he and Spinks, et al had to take legal action to get their pay off.
Parkins claim was for £100000.

I might be wrong, but I think Davey or Cryne might have been quoted as saying as much somewhere in the past
Of course it could've been some sick dream where I was just reading/hearing Davey quotes all the time (note. I don't tend to dream about Simon Davey - I want to make that clear)

Each contract will be individually tailored to each specific employee. The point is it is impossible to state the burden Davey's contract would be on the club without having sight of it.
"HOWEVER, his contract is a rolling contract which means that if his contract is terminated he will only get ONE YEARS SALARY"
that's a relief to know (in case he did go), but it sounds too much like common sense to me.
