In 84, oh this is true,
The miners striked but some worked threw.
Its been a long time, since that day,
But we hate the scabs to this feckin day.

    We all hate scabs

I wasn’t even alive when it happened.

Seems to be dragging on does this. How many of the Forest fans would have been involved that come on Saturday.

Maybe 5% ish. Maybe others from other areas who also had nothing to do with it.

Barnsley has a bad enough rep as is it never mind with other people coming for the first time to hear this crap.

I work and am good mates with a Forest fan at work who doesn’t come from Nottingham; I’m going to be coming over on the train on Saturday with him. I’ll probably come back a little embarrassed with certain morons attitude been a reminder of his 1st visit to Barnsley.

Just forgive and forget. Its Nottingham Forrest FC and not Nottingham Miners FC.

Might be talking about things I don’t know about which I do as my dad was a miner and when the mines closed we moved to Manchester as my dad got a job there. So I know a little bit about the history.

I take it your Dad wasn't affected with the struggles of that era then? otherwise he would have educated you about the ill feeling between the Yorkshire miners and the Notts scabs during that time. Golden rule.....always know your history.
