...did it make you feel better especially as there was nowt worth nicking in it (as usual)?.. Spannered my bank holiday waiting in all day for the Police (who came) and the RAC (who didnt) Another £50 down the tubes for the excess

Had my Beamer for 7 years -never any trouble. Got a new Fiat last year and after a few weeks someone ran into the back of it whilst parked and 'totalled' it and this replacement so far has had a rock thrown at it and now the drivers door glass smashed. The last time I had a window smashed was 20 years ago and THAT was also a FIAT.
Are some cars just naturally jinxed??

Moved to Barnsley in '67 and I think the older end are just as friendly as they have always been but the younger end get more tw*ttish every year. It's turning into 'Chav city'.

    :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :((

It happened sometime after 2 pm and I have no idea who did it except there are always a few druggies around the area so someone probably needed to get enough pennies together for their next fix. There is an auto crime initiative going on at the moment so the police sent a guy round who dusted for prints, took a few glass samples away. I was gobsmacked - didn't find anything though but at least they tried.

Best punishment would be to drive 'em across a ploughed field half a dozen times, stark b*llock naked sitting in a seat covered in the broken glass they left behind!

I agree with you about each generation becoming more pregnantfishish as you put it.

Mindless vandalism seems to be the norm these days.

Shocking. That would never have happened anywhere else. I'd move out if I was you.

ah total rubbish, it was plain to see there was absolutely no contact with your car at all, the chav walked up to it where he was promptly taken out by a sniper wieding neighbourhood watch co-ordinator.

Park it near the town centre a few years back

70% chance it wont be their when you come back.

To be fair car crime in Barnsley seems to be improving. My Mum hasnt had hers broken into for a while, mainly becasue she refuses to park it in tarn.

    "under CCTV monitor"

Never works for me. They brick the CCTV and then break into my car.

i now park next to mercs, hoping they break into that and not mine

Friend of mine had hers done a few years back

Drilled a hole through the driver's door to bust the lock mechanism.  Took a screwdriver to the dash in a failed attempt to get the radio out.  Caused damage to the tune of about a grand and stole....wait for it.

    A packet of Polos.

Incidentally, that was a Fiat, too.

Why the hell would anyone break into a Fiat?

    Yep, deffo smack head.

Or a jealous "City" Rover owner.

Most certainly an @rse-hole though. May his testcles get snagged on a rusty nail.
