To try and put things into perspective

Souza was VERY poor last night , but he's still the best central defender we've had since Wembley IMHO . There are parts of his game that need to be worked on , but I've yet to see a Barnsley player that didn't apply to . The likes of McCarthy , Futcher & De Zeeuw are quite rightly regarded as Oakwell legends . However, I've lost count at the number of times Macca helped concede goals/penalties/corners/dangerous situations with his pathetic back passes . Futcher could be outstanding for an entire game , yet have a crazy five minutes when he'd be capable of repeating Macca's flaws with the addition of a few spectacular own goals. De Zeeuw's performances for us in the Premiership were a million miles away from the ones he produced with Wigan & Portsmouth . His final season for us had a number of games when he gave the impression he was simply going through the motions . All three were superb defenders for us most of the time , yet they were by no means perfect . A lot of people on here appear to have very selective memories when debating players they rate against players they don't .
Three defeats in the opening twelve games does not a relegation season make . When these four lads make their way down Grove Street , then I'll concede we may have some problems , but not yet .

The 7 games unbeaten were spot on.

I don't think we'll manage it again with strikers who can't score & defenders who can't stop players scoring.
Oh - and a midfield that are a man short every time the free kick taking Northern Irish buffoon pulls his boots on.
