Bialkowski 7 Shotton 9 (MOM) Moore 8 Foster 8 Dickinson 8 Campbell Ryce 7 Colace 6 Doyle 7 Hammill 7 Hume 7 Macken 7 SUBS: Hallfredsson 8 Butterfield 7 Report: Wow, what a change it is for us to steal something in the last kick of the game. We started brightly and Hume and Macken were interlinking well and the midfield were winning their battles. Hume scored a great left footed strike from the edge of the area and we were the better team by far in the first half. Their goal was from a debatable foul by Moore who was fantastic again today and I personally think our goalie made a bit of a howler from where I was stood (ponty end) but if I was to look at it later tonight on the highlights then I may be wrong. After a bit of a kick in the teeth after them scoring just before half time, both teams came out and seemed evenly matched in the early stages of the second half. After about 20 mins in, Ipswich were slowly getting on our backs and were edging our midfield battle and Mark Robins rightly made a change with Hallfredsson and Butterfield coming on and we were back even stevens again. Ipswich had a great chance when their left winger narrowly put it over and on the other hand Macken had a half shot from Shottons long throw that if was on target, would have been a goal. Iain Hume was then brought over fand was given a comical penalty as the poor Ipswich defender slipped and Hume who was no where near him at the time, got the ball and went over towards him with it and tripped over him. The referee was a joke today. Hume later missed the penalty, halting his run to see if the keeper moved and then hit the post. Late on Ipswich should have punished us but for a fantastic save from Bialkowski and with seconds remaining, Butterfield floated a lovely free kick over that caused chaos in the Ipswich box and the ball fell kindly to Macken who cooly slotted home for a dramatic winner. Bialkowski had a decent game and his kicking is superb at times, great save at the death before Macken scored. Ryan Shotton. What a game this young lad had today and I hope we snap him up either permanant or on loan till end of the season. Dickinson is a tough tackler who has a good left foot and puts himself in great defensive position. No nonsense both of them. The Stoke lads have really shorred up our back four and you can see that both of them love playing for our club. SIGN THEM UP ROBINS!!!! Darren Moore has been our best performer this season and today was a fantastic example of why. Won every ball in the air, puts his body on the line and is strong and good in the tackle. Well played Big Dave. Foster looks to be getting back to his best and the back four looked fantastic today as they did in mid week. Hugo Colace was quiet today and doesnt put a foot in enough. His needs to improve on his distribution as we looked a lot better when Halfredsson came on. Nathan Doyle cover a hell of a lot of ground and is a little tiger in there. Him and Halfredsson for me should be our two central pair. Campbell Ryce had no end product today and we still need to see a better performance from him. Hammill had a quiet second half but kept going at their defence. Halfredsson came on and assured the midfield. He has got fantastic vision and ability on the ball. Slowly becomming a fan favourite I think. Macken and Hume look to be forging a good partnership and you cant ask any more of both of your strikers than to both get on the score sheet. Macken wasnt as good as Tuesday night but took his goal well and kept going. Hume was busier and scored a great goal but his confidence looked shot after he missed the penalty. Andy Gray is a fantastic signing but will struggle on the form of these two. Bogdanovic on the bench aswell. Another fantastic player. What a job Mark Robins has done in a short space of time. We look a stronger outfit who aeem to be confident now. We have fantastic cover in every position and I would have no qualms if any player got injured as their replacement would be more than adequate. The team defend well as a team and attack as a team. The loan signings aint just here to get games, they are here to help us win games and all love playing for our club. I am really optimistic now as we now have a manager and a team that look to take us on and upwards. Here Here for Mark Robin red and white army.
don't get me wrong... pleased with the result. pleased with robins. pleased with the new signings. even though we deserved the result, didn't think we played that well.
