    Report:

After walking down towards the well at about 2:40pm I was thinking that maybe this would be the first time we would win our first home game of the season. How wrong could I be? We started the game brightly and some nice little neat moves were taking place. The free kick goal killed the game for us straight away. We were then at sixes and sevens for the rest of the game. We had little urgency and no end product once again. The midfield looked over run by coventry's and there was little or no service to the strikers. We didnt even create a half chance today. Ok, its early in the campaign but the attitude of the players was all wrong today. Rob Kozluk should be ashamed of himself. We were struggling to get into the game with 11 players so to get a second booking in the way he did made it 20 times worse than it already was. Hopefully we will see a brighter Barnsley side tuesday night but if we dont, then maybe we need to see something done.

Steele had a quite game really but his kicking still needs to improve. At times it was going towards Campbell Ryce our new target man and nowhere near Macken. Hassell was ok again, nothing fantatsic and a shade of the player we saw last season. Darren Moore played solid enough but looked edgy in placed. Foster was outstanding today compared to the rest of the team. He lead as a captain today and if I feel sorry for anyone today its him. Kozluk, not even worth talking about, i think we all know about his performance today.

JCR hasnt got on the boil since day one. We need to see him improve because he would have been one of the players i'd have taken off at half time. Another one the shade of a player he was last season. Needs to improve fast. Anderson had a decent first half but went missing the second. He needs Colace at the side of him. Butterfield did some nice passing but we lacked some bite in midfield today. He wasnt any worse than the other players though. Hammill wasnt in the game at all today. tried to do too much and kept cutting inside too much. His final ball was poor today.

Macken held up play well and his first touch at times was excellent today. Lacked service and help from fellow team mates. Bogdanovic was caught offside far too much. Nardiello esque at times with his offside movement. He didnt look interested today. Hume and Odejayi added a bit of spice today but it was too late for them to make any impact.

An attitude problem today with a performance that lacked any urgency and desire. If players read this board then please put some effort in on Tuesday. Us fans would give anything to wear the shirt of Barnsley FC and would run our knackers into the ground trying to win any game we played. Today i blame the players not the manager. Simon Davey's team but as soon as those players cross that white line, its up to them. If players dont wanna put the effort in then give someone else a go Simon.

    Agree with most of that.
Don't like alsting players, but would like to know what's going on with JCR. Must have given possession away 60% of the time he got it.
The good thing about it (and you can see it with your ratings) - so many players off the boil - at least we know there's alot better to come from this side.
Some team sooner or later will get ripped apart by that midfield - just hope they get it ticking sooner rather than later!

Very disappointing. I was sure we'd win.

My sentiments entirely Royston, Coventry are no better than us but seem to have an Indian sign on us at the moment.
Tuesdat night will be different, you wait and see.

We`ll be okay, sometimes it doesnt happen for the team, today was one of them. Halfredsson will walk straight in if his clearance has come through, probably at left back.

JCR looked totally disinterested and carried on where he left off last Saturday. nt

I'm really confused as to why people thought Foster was MOTM. I thought he was poor.
