Just back in, disappointed with what I've seen. Controlled the game for 45 minutes but we seemed to let them come at us non stop second half. Would like to see the goals again because the back four just seemed to be all over the place for each of the three goals they scored. I don't know whether it's lack of confidence, ability or whatever, but my biggest critcism of our poorer performances, under both Wilson and Johnson, is that we aren't good enough to stroke the ball around slowly and get something from a game. We are better with a higher tempo, Walsall at home second half most recently. Still make mistakes, but I'm convinced our lack of creativity from open play is because we continually have 8 men behind play, so we stop, turn back, and lose any momentum. Colchester, like a lot of sides we've played, were quick in getting to our penalty area in the second half. We're going to end the season I reckon in pretty much the position where we are tonight and it'll be a fair reflection of what we have in terms of player quality/experience and of the time that two managers have had to work with them. Given that Johnson will want to bring in some of his own, I just hope he's given more than 2/3rds of next season if we find ourselves in the same spot. Wilson didn't get the chance to be judged on a second season with his squad. Johnson has got to be given that chance come what may.
