    The answer is

It don't really matter (I use the cheapest stuff from Lidl), it just depends how you make it. I've got one of those things that you put on the hob and the water is forced up through the coffee into the top jug-like bit. I make it strong and drink it mixed 50/50 with hot milk, tastes just like what you'd get in a bar in Spain.

Kenco for me. Nowt else will do unless our lass buys me a coffee machine. Then I may do some experimenting.

Instant - Kenco rich roast, or their Sustained Development coffee.

For the filter machine it's usually a fairtrade one with a strength rating of 5 - got a Cafe Direct rich roast at the moment which is decent, put half a stick of cinnamon into the pot when brewing it
