NEW signing Adam Hammill will start for Barnsley tomorrow as they attempt to beat bogey team Coventry City at Oakwell. And Icelandic international Emil Halfredsson may be involved against Preston North End on Tuesday, if, as expected, he wraps up a season-long loan switch from Italian club Reggina today. Halfredsson, 25, played for Iceland in their 1-1 draw with Slovakia on Wednesday, and is expected at Oakwell this morning to complete his move, pending international clearance. However, manager Simon Davey admits clearance is unlikely to come through in time for tomorrow’s clash with Coventry, where Barnsley will be bidding to make it third time lucky. The Reds have played the Sky Blues in their first home fixture for the past two seasons – but suffered 4-1 and 2-1 defeats respectively.
