Firstly, the positives. + Lewin Nyatanga - The people who thought he "wouldn't be missed" when he ended his loan spell are insane. The boy is class, was superb today. Considering that he's a centre half, he was the only player we had who actually tried to get the ball down. + Steve Foster - Solid and dependable as ever. + Luke Steele - Few shaky moments but another clean sheet. 2 goals in 4 games conceded since he came in? Thats about it. Hassell did well in the first half; think some of the Van Homoet bashing is slightly harsh and OTT, and think we decided after 20 minutes not to bother passing the ball to Macken's feet, which is the only time we looked like we might do something. Did hear a new insult today though. The guy behind my brother was whinging all game, and my brother said "Why do you come?" The guy responded "I come to watch us play football, not a swirlin' fookin' wind." So apparently, the players are to blame for the weather now. Astounding. They were poor. We were poor. The weather is atrocious - I'm hoping that we can get a couple of away games in weather like that so we might nick a few 0-0s away from home to see us safe.
I thought Nyatanga and Foster did better as a partnership than either of them with Souza. Thought Kozluk played well too, at the back, just a bit daft with challenge. Van Homoet on the other hand..
I think the criticism of Van Homoet is justified to be honest - he gave the ball away needlessly in dangerous positions twice which nearly led to a goal on each occassion - something which he has done before this season.
He also recovered to save us a couple of times when Showunmi looked like he was going to get away. He was poor, but he's played 2 games and we've kept 2 clean sheets. Can't have been that disastrous.
