    Few observations.

Phenix was out wide for lots of it suggesting he is a possible wide option rather than down the middle. Everyone else crossing was a recognised wide player (full back as had no wingers out there).

Some of the balls into the box were continually poor. Maybe a result of bleep test they had just had, but we are used to poor final balls these days.

Nyatanga swapped with Smith so maybe he could play LB if required with Alfie and Roberts in the middle.

For every fancy Wilkinson finish was a bad miss.

Pearson was quality on the ball and finishing.

I'm not drawing conclusions of the season from it, just sharing some thoughts.

Phenix is a winger. He was used by Telford as an emergency striker. His mate posts on here, he said as much.

Phenix is a winger. Pretty sure the bloke that knows him posted something similar, a couple of days ago. Maybe he's going to play a part this season afterall.

Some of wilkinsons finishing was class just his heading is not his strong point for a big lad.

I think he's the lad I'd most like to see succeed this season, well, him and Winnall.

He's not a target man. Despite his height, he wants the ball to feet. Johnson pretty much said the same.

Wilkinson plays very much in the style of Van Persie. I'm really looking forward to watching him develop.

Was quite impressed with the intensity of the session, few dodgy moments but if we attack sides with the same purpose and add a bit more quality then we will look good going forward.

Got to admit I thought Phenix was more central. Did hear Wright reiterate today Wilkinson wants ball at his feet. Still needs to head in from a couple of yards most times though.

Wilkinson was working with Smith and Johnson on his own on friday doing crosses into the box and him heading it. Johnson knows what he needs improve on
