Granted I didn't have to watch his performance, but . . . http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=82712&mid=532158#M532158
While we're talking about "issues" What is it you have against epileptics? You seem to have a thing for avatars that flash and catch the eye in a really annoying way. Any chance you could calm it down a bit for the next one?
I agree. Thought he was way to picky, especially on where a free kick should be taken from. He pulled one back in the first half when it had been taken from about 5 yards away from the incident, then let it go from further away. (doh) He also should have booked their player when Anderson got booked. And he was letting the CB climb and pull all over Odejayi, fair enough he gave a couple of free kicks for it, but what about a booking to stop it happening. Couple of times he missed some leading with the arm as well. One in first half on Stan was blatant.
Eh? Did he make Anderson raise his hand to his face? Anderson should have known better then. He wasn't card happy either which is always a plus with a ref. The Lino made a couple of decisions that the ref took the flak from the crowd for.
No he didnt make Anderson do anything, but if you book retaliation you should book provocation. The defender was into his face for a good 10 seconds and the officials did nothing. And to say he should have known better, you have obviously never played football, its easy to say from the sidelines.
Cant complain with Andersons booking but the other guy should also have been booked for his kicking and pushing of Anderson before he was provoked into the silly hand gesture
Refs Cannot Win When they book people they are card happy and when they use common sense they should bring out the card
I was sat infront of it - the defender did more than provoke, he kicked Anderson in the knee right infront of the linesman.
RE: Refs Cannot Win The common sense decision in that situation is to book both players. I am all for referees keeping their cards in their pockets for silly offences but that wasn't one.
Where shall I start Blowing for every little thing Making us move the ball to correct blade of grass for free kicks, but Scnuthorpe seemed to be able to take it from where they wanted. did he book any of their players? I don't recall yet they got away with loads. UPDATE - oh I do recall one of their players getting booked....for a forearm smash on Christensen which warranted a red card, Their number 18 was a dirty, nasty little **** (anyone know his name as we now wish to hate him for the rest of his career) yet DeSilva got booked....and it was obstruction to start with.
Their player swung his leg at anderson/de silva (whatever his name is) and was then in his face for ages. The ref was looking straight at this and so was the linesman yet neither made any attempt to protect the player so he raised his hands to push him away. Perfectly reasonable reaction if you ask me. The person that was at fault was the ref for not dealing with the situation as it happened and instead allowing their player to continue gettig in de silva's face until he was forced to defend himself and then booked him.
