An absolute killer to start what will be the toughest week in the history of the tour. I fear for Froome now. Contador has a far stronger team and with his support man also looking for a podium place, I think this could drag them over the line. Mick Rogers is also having a good tour. In contrast Sky are looking week and for me they made a mistake not taking a good climber like Rigoberto Uran.

I agree with you , but apparently Froome is better than Wiggins, so he didnt need Uran !!!!
I mhope that he wins it, but I fear for him in these big mountains, he is a very good climber, but he has become a bloody big head !!

He was good enough to win it last year but Sky had a really strong team. I can't think of another rider winning the Tour without another strong GC contender in his team.

What do you think to Richie Porte?

Froome apart, Sky look dogshit. But even though other GC contenders have better teams around them, I can't see any of them climbing away from Froome. He's the best bike rider on the tour, the best climber and, Tony Martin apart, the best time trialist. They can attack him all they want in the mountains but I think it's more likely Froome will be riding away from them rather than the other way around. The other teams have more chance of taking time out of Froome on Stages like Friday's when you need a strong team to ride fast over long distances, which, unfortunately, Sky haven't got.

Richie Porte - one good stage does not a good bike rider make. There's no point taking your team leader to the head of the race one day then cracking after 20 miles the next and losing 15 minutes. He should be there every day for Froome, like Froome was for Wiggins, but half of the time he goes missing. He just can't be relied on.

My thoughts too. That's why they should have taken Uran.

I hope you're right about Froome in the mountains but I just have a feeling that Saxo will have the upper hand and Roman Kreuziger seems to be in the form of his career.
