Dissapointed not to have won yesterday and taken all 3pts, but it was a point gained and a much better performance from the lads than we have seen in recent home matches.

Three players stood out by a country mile i.e. Hassell, Macken & Steele. Hassell justified his player of the yer tropy by proved once again that he is Mr dependable and our most consistent player. I would go as far as to say that Macken played his best game in a reds shirt yesterday, he won all ariel battles, held up play well and also scored. Why can't he play like that every week!? Finally Luke Steele, he proved that he is good enough to be number one keeper at this club and should have been given more opportunities this season. Muller was faultless in his first season but hasn't been the same player since he returned. Steele looked dominant his area yesterday, he was decisive and took control of situations e.g. claimed/punch crosses, rushed out to break up attack and clear the ball and co-ordinated / communicated well with his defence. All things that Muller has not done in recent games.

Two players who dissapointed yesterday we Moore and Hammill. Both of whom were said to have been effected by the same bug as Foster. Hammill looked tired and didn't seem to get into the game. The big worry for me though was Moore, he struggled all day and I felt was a liability. Normally dominant in the air he failed to win ariel battles and also clear his lines.

Other dissapointment was how we sat back and invited pressure late in the second half. Many fans blamed SD, because they felt Andranik was defensive substitution. But most seem to ignore that Andranik is a winger by trade, but can also play central defensive role. Thats where he played for Bolton, and he scored 2 great goals against Wigan (see youtube).

To be honest we all hoped for wins at Reading, Coventry, and at home against Wolves. Realistically I think most of us would have been happy with one win from those three. Ok, we didn't get that but we have taken points from each game. With Birmingham losing, Reading now have an outside chance of automatic promotion so will hopefully be fired up for Norwich game. If Norwich lose, or draw Plymouth's chamionship status will be confirmed before the last day and hopefully if we play like we have in the last three matches we will take all 3pts.

So tomorrows game is massive! COME ON YOU ROYALS!!!!

I agree about Macken playing well yesterday, but if we go down I blame it on Daveys obsession with picking Macken, lets be fair Macken doesnt threaten their defenders at all and no striker at the club has been able to form a partnership with him, so maybe Macken himself is the problem, Bobby Hassell more or less said that as well.
