thought he looked quite efective as the 1 in front of the back 4
if we are going to play 4-1-4-1 then we can't afford to isolate the lone striker as we did last night-the midfield need to support more
it will take time to work it out and I'm not sure we have that time
Wright looked more effective in the role than Richards
McIndoe was probably MoM but defensively not a patch on Shuker-but that's not why he's in the team-can see him scoring a few
Letheren-scary!! need an experienced back up
Colgan-a bit flat footed for 2 of the goals
McParland-looked OK
Williams-one excellent run and shot
Hassell-run ragged by their left winger

RE: What did you think of Healy? OK- not as effective as Togwell at breaking things up-slightly more adventurous in outlook--maybe worth a pay as you play contract-due to worries over fitness
Course he would I think we should sign Lampard on one of those deals too. £100 a game. He'd jump at chance.
RE: Course he would If no-one else comes in for Healy then I reckon he would. What choice does he have?
Fruit and Veg stall in the East End? A walk on part in Silent Witness?
If you had a family, which i presume he does, could you afford to sign a contract that only pays you when you play?
I know I couldn't unless I had a large amount of savings which I doubt he will have taking into account he's been around the block these last few years.

RE: Do you really think so Depends really on the who that someone else is. If his fitness is so questionable that we're unwilling to offer him more than a pay-as-you-play then he's unlikely to find anyone in our division willing to gamble on a longer contract. So that may leave him with the choice of trying to earn a contract with us, or signing somthing longer with a League 1 / 2 side. Is anyone else looking at him, out of interest?
I honestly think that anyone who expects him to sign a pay as you play contract is living in dreamland. It just doesn't work like that.
RE: Would he sign... It would have to be a deal where he gets paid a wage regardless of playing as well.
£300 a week basic pay + £1k per game he actually plays would be a reasonable offer maybe.

RE: I honestly think wouldn't be surprised to see him on a short term pay as you play till he proves his fitness then sign a long term.
RE: I honestly think Not ideal for the lad, I agree. But as I've said, it depends on what other options are open to him.
that was......... sort of what I meant-obviously no-one would agree to no wages at all unless they played
RE: This is Barnsley playing in the championship Have another lie down Gladys. Are you saying pay as you play deals don't happen at this level?
