But, I was pleasantly surprised by the ground. It's all a bit conference level in size, not surprising as that's where they came from and they have a small supporter base, but everything worked. The toilets were good, the automatic turnstyles were good, the meat & taty pies were good, the toilets were clean, a bloke came round the stands selling programmes, they had a massive, well lit informative scoreboard (without the score on, but so what it was 0-0). They even had interesting half time entertainment and a good announcer. Nice little well run club, but it still stank of fish (or estuarine mud, whatever).
Ground is tiny but like you say pretty well appointed facilities wise. The scoreboard certainly put ours to shame. Certainly couldn't live there, the smell is unbelievable.
Great ground, perfectly befitting a club that has come up through the leagues. You could see how the ground and club has developed over time. Impressive scoreboard, turnstiles, supporters' bar and friendly enough stewards. Nice blonde greeting away fans as we went in too! Also a novelty standing on the side of the pitch as if it was a non-league game! Enjoyed it!
Thought it was a cracking little ground. Did you notice their old stand still intact behind the newer one, next to their social club? I'm enjoying football at this level tbh. In the main, real football, proper grounds, honest clubs and proper supporters. As it should be.
