Azhar Ahmed has been bailed to appear before Huddersfield magistrates on 3 July. A racially-aggravated public order charge was withdrawn at the hearing. Of course it was; this was never in any doubt as far as I was concerned.
I'm not sure what your point is Mario. Are you suggesting that the British Muslim who is being charged (with what?) is being treated differently because he's from an ethnic minority? And that if he was white he would be being hung out to dry? Honestly fella it's not clear from your post, but I can see you're properly pissed off. I'm usually labelled a left wing libereral (I'm proud of that) and I don't agree with our involvement in Afghanistan. But as they are now out there, I want everyone one of our soldiers to get home safely. I am proud of the way they (generally) conduct themselves, they are disciplined and professional. But, a hate crime is a hate crime is a hate crime. I'm not sure what Azhar Ahmed wrote, but if it is considered by the courts to be racially motivated then he should be charged as such.
He's of foreign origin, and inspite the tag of being British, his loyalty is to the region of his forefathers, and therefore in his little mind, like the majority of his ilk, we are the enemy. He will take our money, use our services, and think, "What idiots we are". This is the fact with many young islamics in this country.
Uhm yes maybe my point is a little ambiguous but these lads all served in my old regiment so it really hits home when scumbags like Ahmed don't show them the respect they deserve regardless of his opinion on the war - I actually doubt he has an opinion of his own. They were young men serving their country and will never grow old as a result but we have pieces of **** like Ahmed insulting them from the safety of his computer. I find people like this intolerable and let me make it clear it's not about his colour (read my posts about the scroat that pi55ed on the war memorial).
It has to be motivated by a racial aspect though and his wasn't. he made exactly the same comments as those made regularly by the westboro baptist church. Cnuts yes. racists no. He didn't say anything against britain or british people, all his comments were were against soldiers who he feels kill innocent people. Sadly he is right, SOME of our soldiers are absolute cnuts who kill and rape innocent people. His comments about the dead soldiers were out of order, as was his stupid moronic generalisation about all soldiers but it certainly wasn't racist in any form. I'm more angry at the minority of thugs that we have as soldiers who's actions allow people like him to make such a generalisation.
