Just been having a google for info following on from the story about the Munich disaster in 1958 on the telly this week, but I can't find any info about the goals / games record of Tommy Taylor at Barnsley. Loads of details about his 128 goals in 189 games for Manure (which is frankly amazing), but nowt about us.

    Can anyone enlighten me?

So he wouldn't have the burden of being the first £30,000 player.

And given that Mark Jones was

a Wombwell lad, I cannot tell you how much it pisses me off when misguided idiots come on here trying to be funny about a genuine sporting tragedy just because it's MUFC.

  8. RE: And given that Mark Jones was

That's the trouble with open forums though isn't it? Amongst the intelligent, rational sorts are plenty of misguided idiots who can't help themselves. If they are not poking fun at genuine tragic events they are asking inane questions like: "NE1 no what time kik of is 2day" or "Wer iz Port Vale?" and such like. Funny how some people can apparently use a computer (ie THIS site) but can't seem to navigate themselves to other sites that answer ALL their stupid questions. Just an observation...

what is that avatar picture though?

I've been trying to work it out for some time now and all I can come up with, is that your postman is a squirrel and is using your letterbox to hide acorns.

    I'm right aren't I.

Also if I leave work today at 4.30pm is the 5.00pm redjet definitely running?

    Thanks.

Go to http://www.antonygormley.com/ and all will be revealed. You're right, it does look like a collection of acorns in my hallway but is, in fact, a picture of one of his masterpieces. It is a collection of about 30,000 terracotta and clay figures that go out on tour now and then - he calls it Field for Great Britain. His roadshow company visited Gloucester Cathedral in 2004 and filled up one of the cloisters with the little chaps. Absolutely stunning.
As for your ferry home, I couldn't be certain but that one may well be running. If you give me a little time to do some research on your behalf I will come back to you with all the info you need, you being SUCH a busy chappy and all that. Happy to help, obviously.
PS Brother in law has got me a couple of early birds for IOW2006 - still no other acts announced other than Prod, Plac and Gold. Better do better than that otherwise I shall be selling them! Are you planning a visit?

    Will hopefully be on honeymoon.

Hang in there, I suspect it's going to be a great line up again, no Glastonbury this year should also help!

Rumours so far, Foo Fighters/Stones. Although these are the same rumours as last year. Maybe somebody looked at a really old website?

I'll let you known if I hear anything good.

  16. Stones/Foo Fighters??

    westlife....mcfly....Fabba.....nowaysis.....Take That

Just looked at e-festivals website for rumours. Rolling Stones are in Germany or something that day and the reason they keep getting mentioned is that Solo (who organise the festival) are their agent (also Star Sailors' agent which is why they've played at 3 to date!)

I'd hang onto the tickets, the line up is bound to be impressive.

Was Mark Jones a Wombwell lad?

He went to Darfield Foulstone and lived in Darfield on Barnsley Road.

    Born or lived?

He definately went to Darfield Foulstone. There is a plack in the reception stating it. I knew that at one time he lived on Barnsley Road. Maybe he was born in Wombwell?
