Tonight a reality check?

We've had a good start to the season, and our run had to come to an end at sometime - although at half time I didn't think it would be tonight! A true test of the team will be how we respond next week against a West Ham side we will be smarting after two defeats.

I'd be more than happy to finish in 12th place this season - it would be a massive improvement on the last couple of years! Anything higher would be a bonus, and we've seen in recent weeks that we can play entertaining football and score a few goals. However, just remember where our players were last year; Steele/Foster - getting slated on here for some of their performances and not having the best of seasons; McNulty - hardly playing; Perkins & Done - playing Div 1 football; Davies - playing Div 2 football; O'Brien and Butterfield - struggling to complete 90 mins and not being overly effective.

On a positive we may have two players in Vaz Te and Davies who can both score double figures (maybe Butterfield too if he stays) in the same season.

Although it's good to dream, I personally think that realistically the play-offs are a step too far this season.

On a different note - after the win on Tuesday we had a positive goal difference - anyone know the date we last had a +ve GD? Definately wasn't at any point last season!

it showed we are not capable.. in other words, we are not capable of killing teams off....and that also showed in the Peterborough game too. We are simply just not ruthlessand or hardened enough to complete the job.If we were then we would be in the top 6, but we are not. This is down to us being too soft.It does not help having a boy for a captain with an ego as inflated as one of Richard Bransons balloons.Personally I would not be at all bothered if Jacob "look at me I am a god" Butterfield was sold in january, he could go and keep Hamill company in the Wolves dug out maybe.

agreed , the 4-3 victory win showed we could not kill teams off , i would have prefered a 3-3 draw ...............muppett

At least we are managing to score a few - season gone by we've concede but not been able to score!

we meekly surrendered a 3-0 lead at Peterborough

luckily we scored a 4th but having watched the game we weere fortunate.. today we surrendered a 2-0 led again very meekly, but we went on to allow them to rape us... the only MUPPET is you , get the blinkers off. Or parhaps send me a photo of some bloated old tart like you send to most.
