Debut run for the club. Players attending were Crainie and Jim OB; along with Ben Mansford and Guy Proctor (good turn out). Ben opened up explaining how he wanted the Club to develop relationships with the area and that this was an opportunity to communicate. First part was questions from audience with answers from the BFC team. Quite at a few comments about high ticket prices and that BFC should do better in attracting younger fans. BFC are aware of reducing attendances, and whilst having one of the lowest average ticket price in the Championship, they will be offering some incentives in future games. BFC are looking for local input, in terms of interest and cash injection. They do not see a short-term "sugar daddy" coming into the club. Increase in revenue has to be done in conjunction with the community and local business. It is difficult to put everything into a post like this......but what I would say is that we have a CEO in Ben Mansford that is energetic, has a will for BFC to succeed (and I believe he means a top half Championship team, at the least) and the players and coaching staff look to be a close knit and coherent group. What I would say to fans who want a quick fix........Rome was not built in a day......Ben and his team are already making positive changes, but some things do take time, so we must be patient. BFC are in good hands.
Thanks for that insight Pasta. I'm going to try and get to The Keel if I can. Were the audience well behaved? Any nuggets?
Obvious couple of silly questions and a bit of background noise, but all-in-all, a very good event for fans and BFC. My suggestion would be that in future events you try and have an MC plus a microphone; it just makes life easier? But in fairness, the real "fabric" of the event was that the staff got the chance to talk to the fans, on a one-to-one basis, and this was excellent.
It's ordered and on its way. But project is not as simple as "just plug it in". It will need reinforcement frame (health and safety) and this has all been planned ie. don't expect a new scoreboard being operative next week !!!
Yeah it was a good event. Well worth getting along to one of them! Good to meet you by the way Pasta! Chris O'Grady and Peter Rammage will be the players at The Tred on Wednesday. Not sure which members of the management staff will be there. Since it's my local I'll be popping along to that one as well. Might even have a few pre-stag do drinks (fly to budapest next morning)
Let's hope when ticket offer the fans come as if be right behind club of it doesn't work and they say sod it
