Dunno mate, the roads around Sheffield are that bad that work have told me not to bother going in as the office is shut, shame.
The only reasons I can think of are... If the pitch is too wet/boggy/swampy and/or if the police determine that the roads are too dangerous to drive on. Only time will tell though.
RE: The only reasons I can think of are... How can the roads be too bad. If the council have done there job they wunt be.
The state of the roads are dangerous I cannot see SYP allowing 30,000 people to venture out at night when the temperature is likely to be close to zero and the hospitals are already creaking at the seams. Game will be off, its a certainty.
ST, there are loads of cars and vans dumped on the roads and make gritter vans life impossible as they narrow the roads, our road is quiet near a main road and is still snow bound. SM, There won't be 30k especially due to the conditions but can see SYP calling it off
All the more reason for the club to be sensible calling the game off might make more financial sense, more time to sell tickets etc. Im sure we'd jump at the chance to have it rearranged given our current form etc.
I'd prefer to play it tonight but wouldn't be overly concerned as the biggest game for us is Saturday, our hoo-doo over you lot at S6 must end soon
Hi mate.... I can't believe I'm going to say this .... but here goes .... good luck at the weekend... I hope you murder Blackwell's thugs !!!!
Am sat in mi frount room lookin art of window. All off road is coverd in "slush" and a see a gritter comedown my street no cars in frount of him. He stops and reverses back up the street. How stupid is that.
As long as the temperature stays above freezing during the day, which it is forecast to do, the ice will start to turn to slush and slowly dissapear. There is a chance they will call it off if they check the state of the surrounding area at 12.00, but I bet that, if they left it until about 4.00pm then it would definitely be on.
As long as it does not snow again today, it'll be on! With the volume of traffic that is going to pass over the roads between now and kick off, the roads will be almost clear by tea time.
Also, the pitch was playable yesterday according to SWFC, and no snow since can't possibly change that.
Game on!

RE: As long as it does not snow again today, it'll be on! at 12 ar they just inspectin pitch or outside aswell
Pitch inspection, but i imagine with an input from SYP on the safety of supporters travelling, and from the ground staff on the condition of the surrounding car parks/streets etc. I still think it will be on, although from a footballing angle, hope its off. Give us a chance to get Foster and Boggi back.
