Can someone enlighten me? I've not been able to make any friendly games (nor will I be able to attend a game for the first two months of the season) - are we playing some decent football or is it more of the same direct stuff that was served up at the end of last season? I was hoping that it was just Davey playing percentage football at the back end of the season and he would impose 'his' style of play for this season - anyone care to comment?
We Are.......... playing Andy Ritchie tatics of fast, passing and attacking football. Totally different to the boring and long ball crap we were served up last season to stay up.
Cheers mate ...will probably indulge in a dozen or so matches this season. Thanks for the tip-off - should be entertained this season then!
To add to what I've written elsewhere... ...I'd say the style of play was mixed. Quite a bit of hump up to Stan but then also using tricky Ricketts or dervish Werling to be a bit more progressive. Mossto hasn't got the idea of playing off a big man yet (he's probably never even seen such a thing). He likes to run early and expects to get the ball (but doesn't!). Great to see the attempts at communication between the players though. Oh and we at last have players that can take long throw-ins (Werling and Kozluk) so the long ball style can be played properly.
