Tonight's, the good, the bad and the not so good.

It was fairly poor at York tonight. I put our lack of a performance down to a lack of organisation, lack of fitness and a lack of a holding midfielder. Oh and a very poor goalkeeper. Thing is Im not too worried as Davey should sort this before the beginning of the season, as the holding midfielder role will be filled by Colace or Anderson, Steele or Heniz will be back in goal and the rest should be sorted during the rest of pre season.

Oh York looked very organised, should do well in the conference. Sodje is def someone we should be interested in.

Anyway player ratings.

Letheren 3
V poor. His kicking was shocking. Cleared it to a York player on a few occasions which put us under extreme pressure. Can def see why Davey didnt play him last season. What the hell happened for their first goal!

Hassell 6
Didnt do much wrong, very steady back in his usual position. However played a part in the mess up for their first goal.

Kosluk 7
Similar to Bobby. Very steady and looked up for it. Switched to ball excellently.

Foster 6
Lost his man a few times. However no worries with him. Will be at his usual best come August 9th.

Moore 6
Big, strong, v scary. Not seen the likes of him at Barnsley before. A player we need. However v slow, which should be sorted out as his fitness improves

Butterfiled 6
Some nice touches, good work for the first goal. However gave the ball away quite a bit. Def not a right winger at Champ level. I just cant see how he is going to progress into a good first team player. Doesnt offer v much.

Leon 7
As always, some great touches, vision and skill. Cannot play him and Howard in central midfield as too similar. I worry he is not clinical enough.

Howard 6
Generally poor due to fact we didnt play with a holding midfielder. Spent too much time on the ball.

El Mouir 8
MOM, looks like we have a good one here. Looking forward to having him on one wing and JCR on the other. Looks quick, picks the right pass and crossing not bad. V happy with him.

Macken 8
Played well, got the goals and chipped in all over. What he lacks in pace, is more than made up for in finishing, passing and strength.

John Smith 5
Whoever you are, no thanks. Looked familiar just cant put my finger on it. Played up front first half did ok. Played wide left second and was v poor. Way way way too slow!

Usual, big strong, fast, get into good positions however finishing crap. Arrrrrrrgh! Missed two fairly easy chances.
