Don't know where that came from usually it's Aldi own brand red.

    Was just thinking that

    Only having 2 glasses.

Had a dry one last night.

Red wine is good for the heart in moderation

Its just that pre/post match binge that will do for me.

    RE: Was just thinking that

listen mate, some hope for you. I've just been for the results of routine blood tests.. have 'em every year.. blood sugars, cholesterol etc etc. Only this time it's been three years since my last test and in that period I've supped for England, not heavily but regularly say two or three beers or best part of a bottle of wine. I also have a blow out every month or so (as you can testify from last Tuesday) anyway when she was giving the results I felt some trepidation. " well David, all your results have come back normal" I enquired whether this included the liver and kidney function test. She informed me it did and asked me why I had quizzed her about that particular test. I informed her I was a liitle concerned as I had been suppingin excess of the gov't guidelines.

She is quite well spoken and she informed me that although you shouldn't abuse it,the liver is a remarkable and resiliant organ she then said in the broadest tarn accent. "you've t' give it some reight 'ammer if yer gunna brek it"

Just made me chuckle !! and when ever you're ready mate

The fact that I am still here

is testament to the resilience of my liver.

I can assure you that when I was in my early twenties my alcohol consumption was nothing short of phenominal.

I once went out for 463+ days on the trot for a minimum of 3 pints, more like 8 Thurs/fri/Sat/Sun.

    Not good.

I put my continued survival, poverty and girth down to my voracious appetite for snap.
