Graham's LBV Port (with some stilton) Usher's Founders Ale Marston's Oyster Stout and probably finish with Jim Beam Black
Old Peculier and Morrisons "The Best" Bottle Conditioned ale. Not tried the latter yet so will report back later. It's 6% though, so my typing might be a bit skew-whiff (?sp)
Twas very nice indeed. The brewery trip will be going ahead on Friday 14th March 2008 for £10 a man. Transport still to be arranged nearer the time depending on final numbers. Unfortunately one of the lads who was a co-instigator of the last one has had his heart pack up and is in hospital recovering from major surgery. He and some of his friends are therefore a major doubt. However we have enough confirmed takers to ensure it will go ahead. I shall, of course, be in touch nearer the time for confirmation of numbers and put potential taxi sharers in touch with one another.
Repaired. Again. Last I heard he was comfortable and making good progress. However, I am to understand that whilst a good recovery is expected it will be a long road and less than 3 months is a bit of an optimistic timescale for him to make it to Acorn with us. That said, it is a short trip for him and so even if he isn't drinking, if he's mobile he might make it just for the social aspect.
Good stuff no doubt the charms of his sword, sndals, beard, squeezebox and a few pagan folk numbers will get him back on the pop quick sticks.
Long Night Went into town at 2:30 and got home after 1 am. We were only going in for a brief drink and some shopping. Went to a place called Parish which is an ok pub. Drank about a dozen pints altogether in five different places. Mainly Carling though.
