What a terrible situation to be in. Locked in syndrome is a frightening position to be in... should he be allowed to take his own life???
the problem he has is that he can't take his own life. The only way he could die would be to starve himself and if he did that there's the possibility that the doctors would have him classed as being mentally ill. If that happened he could be fed against his will. (going off-topic a bit but the Moors Murderer Ian Brady is fighting to get himself 'un-diagnosed' as being mentally ill. If Brady is successful then the force feeding would stop and he could starve himself to death) What Tony Nicklinson is asking is for someone to kill him. Massive ethical issue.
